Ok it took me 2 years to find this video. As much as I search and search, the only think I notice was that I wish you showed the 4x4 SCREEN working along with your new Double DIN install. I was wondering if the 4x4 INFO is still functional. Apart from that, awesome job of showing us this video. Even the land rover forums I know does not explicitly show it this way.
I looked on Sonic's website and the exact model number for the interface kit reads that it does not fit? How is that so? I have a 2006 LR3 SE with harmon kardon amp
Hello, I have a Land Rover LR3, and I need to change my heat unit. I like to know where you purchased all the electronics you purchase to install the head unit. The name of the control for the steering control, the XM connection, and the box that controls the fiber optic cable.
@@TommyboyGTP No, the GPS has the fiber optic tied to it. If you remove it, the stereo won't work. What were you hoping for? The GPS system in the LR3 is archaic compared to today's technology.
@@jonathang1986 Just wondering i don't know too much about electronics. I saw a video where a version without the nav maintained the factory radio, but had an Android head unit was put in that empty spot and used on the AUX setting.
A bit late to the party but, the LR head unit is the master on the fiber (Most bus) so remove the unit, the sat nav screen stops working, The 4x4 info with suspension height and steering angle sensor is sendt over the high speed canbus nettwork. The head unit is connected to this bus so it can send messages from the modules in the vehicle to the info screen over the fiber cable to the screen. Thats why you only have the LR Logo. The screen does not know what to do, so it just sits there and waits for that information.
I do not care about any of that info on the main screen. I knew that the installation would make that screen un-operational. The stereo being from what felt like 1980 was the main goal here.
I have an 08 sport with the logic system, purchased a scosche harness which is very similar to the one you are using in this video. However I’m not getting any audio. Did you have to do anything special with the fiber connection or simply plug it into the black box and it kicked on the amp/audio ?
Does this setup work only with your specific din out could I use a different din and get it to work still? The reason I ask is because I want to fit a din that has both a front and rear camera.
