  • Sharing 4 Ayurvedic recipes that are not only delicious but also beneficial for your health. These I learned in an Ayurveda Centre in Mysore, Karnataka called Indus Valley Ayurveda Centre. #ayurveda #healthyfood
Balance and moderation is the key to a healthier lifestyle. A balanced meal includes foods that are high in fiber, vitamins, and minerals like vegetables, legumes, and lentils. Addition of spices and herbs like turmeric, cumin, mustard not only enhance the flavour but also increase its nutritional value. A traditional Indian meal consists of all these elements, but its nutritional value depends on the quantity of ingredients and the cooking methods.
These four Ayurvedic recipes guide us through simpler and wholesome meals which benefit our health.
Broccoli Soup - A delicious and hearty Broccoli soup, which is packed with nutrients and antioxidants that are essential for a healthy immune system.
Vegetable Palya - The second recipe is Vegetable Palya, a flavorful and colorful side dish made with a variety of vegetables that are high in fiber and vitamins.
Moongdal Khichdi- A traditional Indian dish that is easy to digest and perfect for a light and healthy meal. Made with moong dal and rice, it's a great source of protein and carbohydrates.
Kokum Rasam- A tangy and refreshing soup that is known for its digestive properties. Kokum is a tropical fruit that is rich in antioxidants and anti-inflammatory compounds, this rasam is the perfect way to end a meal.
By incorporating these Ayurvedic recipes into your diet, we can nourish our bodies and maintain optimal health. So why wait? Watch the video and start cooking these nutritious and delicious recipes today!

    Thank you! Very inspiring 😋
I just made my own version of the Moongdahl - was delish!
    Cozy-dahl
    - Two potatoes, diced
    - Two carrots, diced
    - Two onions, diced
    - Half a fennel, diced
    - A handful of frozen spinach
    - One to two tablespoons of finely diced ginger
    - Graham marsala (plenty of it)
    - Some peppercorns
    - Turmeric
    - A bit of chili
    - 100-150 g rice
    - 100-150 g lentils
    - Salt
    - Ghee, plant-based butter, or similar
    - 4-6 dl water (at least double the amount of rice and lentils)
    - Lemon for serving
    1. Toast spices and ginger cubes in the fat at medium-low heat.
    2. Add onions and some salt, stir, and simmer for a few minutes.
    3. Add other vegetables and more salt. Stir regularly and sauté at medium heat for a few minutes.
    4. Rinse rice and lentils and add them to the pot. Stir and wait for a minute.
    5. Add water, stir, and simmer for 20-30 minutes.
    6. Serve with a squeeze of lemon juice and optionally a papadum on the side.
    Enjoy! 😋

Ayurveda and using garlic, onion and non stick pans.

    • @SugarSpiceNiceIndia
      @SugarSpiceNiceIndia  Рік тому +1

Onion garlic is not prohibited in Ayurveda..and non stick pan isn't the best, but sometimes can be convenient. Also it's partially used here, so feel free to try them out on a regular pan

as long as something is growing locally, its ok. its part of a meal, along with many other ingredients. basic reasoning!

@@SugarSpiceNiceIndia well that way everything can be and infact is grown locally these days...they just come laced with a whole lot of pesticides and hormones and what nots. Can't get so basic and simplistic too these days...got to be more aware and apply your mind!
