Saw them live in Berlin a few months back in December, before all this madness happened that we now find ourselves in. A warm Room will always be the greatest post-metal song that i have ever heard. The sheer beauty of this breathtaking guitar duo and the agonizing and yet cathartic screams that convey this feeling, that (for me at least) feels like a mixture of melancholy and joyful bliss. Words just don't do justice. This will always be a favorite of mine. Stay healthy and hopeful everyone!
Blessing brother, yeah I know words can't explain a huge spiritual feeling, it's like when you're falling apart from your soul, you suffered but you find beauty in endless skies and galaxies... It's like a dark blue becoming the most pure color, a cyan blue... 💙
When I finally dead, I would love to hear this song as a background, my soul falling apart from flesh to become dust in the galaxies... No return to the earth, no more suffering, and this anthem will give the joy and transformation my soul wants... Dark blue in the journey to be the everlasting light... Love for everyone is still listening this beautiful and spiritual songs, the best for you!
Reminds me of my grandmother before I left the country, she was unconscious but held my hand so tight anyways, like she knew. This is for her. She passed away a few months later and I cant stop crying thinking of it
@Viktor Sligo Semi-conscious, yes. She had eye cancer. I never listened to emo/screamo anything before this track. When a friend asked why, I said this is the closest I've got to grieving for her. If you think about it, thats a raw human emotion and Envy has encapsulated this. I hope everything's allright with you, Viktor Sligo.
13 years later and i bet you will still feel the same melancholie when you hear that song,.. but today,.. with that smile of remembering the good times and how beautifll those moments were.
envy is a unique band that created its own sound by mix screamo, post-rock, shoegaze, spoken word. And now it's influencing the blackgaze/post-black metal genre.
+TheTurtleneck64 Well... Deafheaven sounds great. And when i heard it for the first time, a pair of chords i thought "ENVY influence". And, ok... they're good, BUT, it's nothing compared with envy. They're so fucking amazing. They're from another world. I would love to see them in a concert. They never come to southamerica :(
Man, no matter u r/were middle age, u should know what I'm taking about, not about age. I've been listening to Grunge > Punk > emo > post rock > post hardcore > ambient NOW...
the upward spiraling feeling of bliss i get around the 6:18 mark that just keeps peaking and peaking ad infinitum is connects this song to me with an intimation of the Holy and always uplifiting unfathamobale beyond..hey maybe youll feel it maybe you wont but it makes me smile hope it does to u too evilocomments
i heard it in a Kazuo Shiraga documentary. The song played in the background while Shiraga painted his paintings with his feet as if charging into a battle. I knew then and there that when you paint you have to lose a part of your soul every time for it to be real. I'll never forget this song.
Envy I bow you with all my heart sweeping through your haunting sound so beautifully that I partake my life into the descant journey of your deep devotion.
One of very few bands that have the skills to make me cry (in a positive way). Envy is bliss!!! As David Triana already said - seeing them live in concert once (in Berlin, Festsaal Kreuzberg) came very close to a theophany. Or at least they must have been kissed by more than one muse.

Jonadab Vargas Envy is such a unique screamo band. They mix the passion and intense emotion of proper screamo (basically classic emocore with screaming) with the beautiful and lonely sound of post rock.
Not only Envy, but in Japan! That is a nerd's ultimate dream! Hope you got to see a lot of attractive tiny Japanese women with growth deficiencies, unless that's not your thing. If you got to see The Pillows while you were there, you would have lived one of the top fives of my "Don't Die Yet!" list. Unless you're still there, in which case go see them in Naniwa-ku or Hiroshima or Sapporo and etc.
@ST3RI0TYP3 look generely into the postrock/metal sector. but envy is still a genre of their own. :) maybe u look for mogwai, cult of luna or isis, though they´re different.
I discovered this band the last year, really this song made me cry... anyone knows the meaning of the lyrics? I have some idea but i don't know it 100%
Try later Isis (Panopticon and onward); Cult of Luna (Somewhere Along the Highway); Godspeed You! Black Emperor (more like the first half of this song); and Explosions in the Sky (again like the first half of this song)
I just saw Envy live and while I'm a huge fan of their music (they make some of the most beautiful music) and while they play it well live, I can't help but say I was underwhelmed by their stage performance and presence. I dunno if it's because of the language barrier, but the audience was not engaged at all.
Probably a stand and listen band rather than a head banging mosh pit band. Doesn't mean they weren't engaged. Just means they were there for the music and not to let themselves go to chaos or something
@ jonread Well I personally don't think so, but I respect your opinion. I think that screaming accentuates strong emotions much better than normal singing. If you are sad, or angry, you just want to scream it out of your head too, want you? @ jesterinflames Then don't listen to them
@andy1111122222 DSHS are amazing.... A Fragile Hope is brilliant and they may have topped it with B&C. Envy seem like a decent band. i also recommend Rinoa, The Circle Ends Here and Cult of Luna.
A hope in mind is secret, and a worn out smile reflects in a mirror. Bad dreams go right away and the world was destroyed when I woke up. We eat the fruit. Make up meanings. Seduce the reasons. Maintain the intellect. Want madly, embrace the solitude tightly and the memories I never forget. A profile I never forget. Write the facing time with the fragments. Save them and pile up their first cries of births. Devote myself solely to writing to figure out the changing prediction. Ones who changed by it. False name and a careless face echoes right before my eyes. Words of disqualification. Will they reach me? I see the end now. Let's go home.

Chills. It's full summer, but I'm shivering. Too many memories when I listen to this, of someone who's gone, that meant a lot to me.
it made a long time that i haven't cry while listenning a music...
Reminds me of my grandmother before I left the country, she was unconscious but held my hand so tight anyways, like she knew. This is for her. She passed away a few months later and I cant stop crying thinking of it

which bands where influenced by them besides deafheaven? i dont think they were influential at all
@@RibeiroGames12 I guess you haven't heard many bands in the blackgaze genre.
@@lee-hyun-jin like which bands were influenced by them?
@@RibeiroGames12 It's annoying to talk about, so find out and listen on your own.
@@lee-hyun-jin it's not, youre literally creating stuff out of your own head lmao
Chef-d'œuvre absolu
this is really a tear-jerker
This song is more than just a song.
I saw this band two weeks ago and man let me tell you.. they are fucking AMAZING!
+sinz2010 They made Tribulation and Deafheaven seem like shit, honestly. Though they're not.
+TheTurtleneck64 Well... Deafheaven sounds great. And when i heard it for the first time, a pair of chords i thought "ENVY influence". And, ok... they're good, BUT, it's nothing compared with envy. They're so fucking amazing. They're from another world.

Apres plus de 12 ans, toujours le meme feeling dechirant!

This is a band I've been tracking since I was @ teen... Time passes so fast, I am now 40!
Man, no matter u r/were middle age, u should know what I'm taking about, not about age. I've been listening to Grunge > Punk > emo > post rock > post hardcore > ambient NOW...
I can't believe how beautiful this is... god he knows how to scream.

I love this song so much it is so melancholic, I almost have to cry
I could ...and have listened to this song all day.
This song puts me in another world.
you have to see envy at least once in your lifetime ❤
Love this rockemo song much - Malaysia...wanna cry coz lost my real job when pandemic.
This song ... No words...
Belleza de banda saludos desde Bolivia
Einer der emotionalsten Lieder für mich, auch wenn ich nix verstehe!
God, I love this band to death. This music is fucking beautiful.

thank you for having this music UP!!
listening to this is a religious experience towards the end. Thank you so much.
Sky Daddy isn't real.
Smoke some DMT and tell me what is real? Sky daddy exists whether u want him to or not
sky daddy doesnt exist weather you believe he does or not.. still this song is not what i expected to find....
Silly atheists smoke some DMT...infinity awaits
David Triana So what's the link between god and DMT and this song???
Immersed in sound of heaven, I am dead gone in desperation of fear of hell.
Haha, the album art reminds me of the Touche Amore full-length!
No doubt they took influence from envy
One of very few bands that have the skills to make me cry (in a positive way).

Thanks for the tip, appreciated 6 years on.
what band sound similiar like them?? the song full of emotion like it
None really. You might like the album "Taken - Between Two Unseens"
Try later Isis (Panopticon and onward); Cult of Luna (Somewhere Along the Highway); Godspeed You! Black Emperor (more like the first half of this song); and Explosions in the Sky (again like the first half of this song)
Not same emotion, but this remind me Summoning
Try "clouds collide - all things shining". Not a japanese band, but sounds pretty much like Envy. "Jesu" can be a good pick though
