I wouldn’t worry about that Charity . I didn’t notice or care. Everyone talks differently. No use worrying about other people’s peeves they will come and go but the reliable followers just love you and your content. You’re doing great and most people don’t realize they do or say things because they aren’t on UA-cam to be scrutinized. Even if the comments are meant well, comments can have a negative impact making someone be more concerned about everyone’s personal preferences than their original goal in doing UA-cam.

So much wisdom in this video, Charity, especially about 'things.' You don't want to struggle financially only to fill a bigger house until it bursts at the seams. You want to make a loving home, and seeing you grasp that week after week is wonderful. Btw, your videography this week is so advanced compared to only a few months ago. That lighting is perfection for you, and so is the framing and focus. I hope you are proud of your progress, and thank you for sharing with us all 🥰

You are so mature, Charity, and I love your positive outlook on what you have learned in your smaller apartment. My husband and I had a small one bedroom apartment when we started out. We still have fond memories of those days even though that was so long ago. I know God has the right house for you and in the right time. Thanks for sharing. ♥

You and Collin are wise to not take on more debt than you can handle. It was a beautiful house to be sure, but since it was out of the budget plus the very expensive utility up grades, I feel it just was the house that is in God's plan for you. In the mean time, it doesn't hurt to keep looking and saving and maybe the interest rates will come down a whole lot which will be a money saver too. Thanks for sharing, y'all have a Blessed day.

Definitely don't do anything until you are ready financially. A house is a big investment and you want to make sure you don't get in over your head. People do that all the time, and the consequences are stressful, to say the least. Just be patient and keep saving towards your goal and you will get there one day soon!

You definitely don't want to be house poor, I'm glad to hear that you're satisfied living in the apartment and plan on staying and saving.

There are online calculators that will show you what mortgage you can afford on your income. And also calculators that show a mortgage payment based on the cost of a home and the down payment. They are very useful. I imagine 245k is very out of range of a comfortable payment if you didn’t qualify for that. Just for example, I bought a home at 250k and the payments with mortgage insurance and little down payment were about 1600 a month. That was in 2014 though

At least you have an idea now of what you would qualify for…like other people say - try and save up for the 20% down and remember all the taxes and insurance, that goes along with a mortgage. We opted for a small / cheaper house so we still could afford “life” without being mortgage poor.

We have tossed around the idea but we aren't sure if that would work out because our schedules are really different. Plus their 3rd floor is used mostly for storage and fitting all of our things up there with theirs would be difficult.

I just heard “grinder pump in the basement “ grandpa would definitely say no to that as he has had LOTS of experience with them. When we hooked up to SCSD grandpa made sure we did not end up with one of those pesky things. God has a plan for you and a house!

I am sure there was disappointment in this home not working out but I would say you actually dodged a bullet. Not that you need my opinion at all, but I figured I'd throw it out there incase you check into other homes with similar needs. We live local to your family- probably about 30 minutes away? My dad owns a well drilling company, though admittedly he doesn't like working in that area and would likely recommend Hawk drilling. That said though, a well that requires only the minimum casing right now would be running close to $15,000 with the pump and line installed and close to $30,000 if you need casing- which a lot of that area does. Casing alone is currently $30/ft and you have to have it until you hit bedrock drilling. There's also a lot of areas over that way that getting good flow would be hard to do and very few mortgages will qualify with a holding tank setup. You need a pretty costly setup to pass a flow test. Being a mom of 5, almost 6 kids, I can say having a large family on very restricted water would be HARD! We had a stomach bug roll through a couple weeks ago and I'm really thankful we could keep up on laundry and give baths anytime they were needed. Additionally we built our home 5 years ago and while we didn't have exactly the same setup for septic, we're right on bed rock and had to haul in sand for our septic....It cost us $38,000 and my husband did all of the finish work to cover the septic and grade it using our composted manure rather than buying top soil. It was a killer! Even just the engineering to get our permits cost thousands. Well and septic work is so expensive, even as the daughter of a well driller, married to an equipment operator we barely were able to squeak it out!

Housing is so expensive. There is no rush. Buying a house with so many issues would be so expensive in the long run.

You both made the responsible decision. The economy isn't great and no one should get in over their heads. I understand you would ideally not want to have a mortgage, but you did not marry a much older man like your mother. I hope your channel continues to grow.

Concentrate on saving for 20% down plus hopefully the interest rates come down once you’ve met the 20%. You guys definitely don’t want to be house poor.

Keep looking, houses are at the top it is going to crash, save your money for the house. When right time to buy will hit you when God wants it for you. Maybe go smaller fix u and sale for the bigger home. Had a friend who did that until she had the house she wanted and paid for. Look to see if you have a first-time home buyers' program, they are income adjusted.

Charity, you need to try and not say, "you know" so much. 7 times in the first few minutes. Might help you get more subs. Just a thought and my opinion.
