Man, I miss the days of real musicians. The days when the beautiful, sultry singer could not only knock the vocal out of the park, but could do it in between playing sax leads. These were the days when you had to have the talent, not a computer, to make it in the business, and the music actually had value because the writers and players were just that damn good.

What's wrong with just taking all the words that end in the same 3 letters and calling it a song. In a violent, moment, a silent, patient with a talent quotient becomes existent.
You have to admit she had a powerful, precise voice, and if you pay attention to all the male band mates, their background vocals and oooos accompany her just perfectly, with just a minimum of sound and not overpowering her already powerful voice. Even all the instruments are well in sync and you know you have a well put together group of musicians when they sound that way. The lead guitarists harmonics before she started singing again was well executed!!!
right on.... try a delay and distortion guitar stomp box in the mics signal chain.... not sue but that may be a session player doing the actual playing... just guessing.....
Perfect.. Everyone should have to listen to this song before they get into their first relationship. Best song with that timeless advice to have the strength to walk away from mistreatment.

The beautiful Rindy Ross on alto saxophone. Formerly known as Seafood Mama, she and husband Marv Ross (guitar) were the nucleus of Quarterflash from Portland. "Take Me To Heart" is another good one.
They still play out as Seafood Mama from time to time, I saw them in '11 at PPAC and they were awesome. Why can't all music videos be like this?? No lipsynching, crazy effects, irrelevant flashing scenes, etc. It's like LIVE without all the noise.
The new groups are hiding their meager talent behind all the distracting effects.
Dude they are literally lip-syncing here.
No ridiculous ass wiggling skanks and femboys.
“Live performance” for most currents music would mean watching a Swede sitting at a computer.
@Stephen G The lip synch giveaway was when she was too slow on the sax solo. The sound was out before she had it to her lips. Still fabuloso.
I love this song so much. One of my favourite songs from the 1980's. I put it at #6 on my top 1,000 songs of the 1980's. I love the beat to it and I love the way the lead singer of Quarterflash sings it. Her voice is brilliant in this song. I loved it as a kid and will love it forever.
What a super talented Lady..All live no auto tune Outstanding performance 👋👋👋👋
"I want my MTV!! The days before social media, when the music was our connection.
Nina blackwood ;)miss em...Dave from van Halen slept with them all lol
@@Admin-py1fl Lol.. I bet you did.. joking. Fun times though for sure.
I've listened to this song many hundreds of times and it's a song that is fresh everytime! Bring back the 70's and 80's music asap!!
You tell them Melanie Cole, tell them what the 80's were all about. 🎶 🎸 🎷 🎺 🎹 😎
@@Admin-py1fl Every chick that Dave had said he was horrible in bed, odd when he had so many opportunities to practice.
She's gorgeous
And she still is on pitch today! 💜
I grew up in the 70s and 80s. Best times. I remember this on the radio. Always takes me back. Never thought the world would look like it does today.
Cryin' on the corner, waitin' in the rain
I swear I'll never, ever wait again
You gave me your word but words for you are lies
Darlin' in my wildest dreams, I never thought I'd go
But it's time to let you know, oh
I'm gonna harden my heart
I'm gonna swallow my tears
I'm gonna turn and leave you here
All of my life I've been waitin' in the rain
I've been waiting for a feeling that never, ever came
It feels so close, but always disappears
Darlin', in your wildest dreams, you never had a clue
But it's time you got the news
I'm gonna harden my heart
I'm gonna swallow my tears
I'm gonna turn and leave you here
Darlin' in my wildest dreams, I never thought I'd go
But it's time to let you know, oh
I'm gonna harden my heart
I'm gonna swallow my tears
I'm gonna turn and leave you here
I'm gonna harden my heart
I'm gonna swallow my tears
I'm gonna harden my heart
I'm gonna swallow my tears
Harden my heart
I'm gonna swallow my tears
No, oh, oh, oh
Harden my heart
I'm gonna harden my heart
I'm gonna swallow my tears
I'm gonna harden my heart
I'm gonna swallow my tears
Harden my heart, harden my heart
Swallow my tears
I'm gonna harden my heart
Muchas Gracias 🌟 por la Letra 🎤 de esta increíble Canción 🎸🎶 Felicidades ✨
I was listening to Qtr flash in 1982, I was a Freshman in College. Party time!!!
Same!
Wow! !982 was a year of ups and downs for me, but I remember this song.
Listen to the warning a great young rock band 3 sisters who are killing it. Plenty of there stuff on you tube. Best band to appear in years
@@allensaunders449 THANK YOU for showing us this cool band, The Warning - they ROCK! I've been wondering where all the rocker female leads have gone, and this band goes above and beyond! haha. ua-cam.com/video/iHZjJb41hDI/v-deo.html
Agree 100%
What's wrong with just taking all the words that end in the same 3 letters and calling it a song.
In a violent, moment, a silent, patient with a talent quotient becomes existent.
I never realised just how beautiful she was
Same here. Just now saw this video. Don't recall ever seeing it back then. But awesome seeing her sing and play the sax.
I remember them debuting on Bandstand and I was - WOW!!
that was my first thought when I saw this video after 30+ years!
That and I never knew she played the sax! Here's to lead singers playing woodwinds. I play the flute myself.
She was smoking hot!
Got to love the beautiful lady singers of the 80's.
I still remember when this was on the radio for the first time.(1982) Great time to be alive. Great rhythm. Thanks for the memories.
It was a great time.
I havent heard this song in years one of my favirite songs when i was young and still is im 61 so
Me too
66 and remembering now that I've been reminded. Cool.
yep,me too at 66
I'm 70, and thought all this time it was Pat Benatar singing this! This is one great, timeless song! And I love the crying saxophone... Wow.
Gracias por estar en UA-cam y poder compartir hermosa canción en tan linda voz les dedicó a todos los que si les guste abrazos a todos besos
It's not live, its lip sync.
Yes Great guys making their job, no thrills, doing what they have to do the best way It should be done¡
Clearly the record synced to the video (studio musicians???)
They are lip syncing. It's a recording.
@@843idfa whatever
Wow , im 66 and this is giving me Goose Bump memories. Loved it but haven't heard it in years !
They don't write songs like this anymore! A classic tune!!!
Rindi Ross , the definition of godess.
I miss the 80's. Clearly the best decade.
jah:.....and also the decade with the best Music ever!
1970s
she had the audacity to be that talented AND gorgeous! 👋
I am not going to stop until I can play saxophone just like her.
Nice! I'd like to hear!
This song is the next I Will sing on karaoke
a sax she isn't playing.... she's holding one though
right on.... try a delay and distortion guitar stomp box in the mics signal chain.... not sue but that may be a session player doing the actual playing... just guessing.....
@@zigwil153 Rindy Ross does play saxophone though.
i would give anything to go back to my 80's and stay there......seriously.....
Hi energy fun and no cell phones. You concentrated on who you were with.
Definitely music today sux🤣🤣
Your not alone. If only we knew then what we know now. Alas i fear we would never have believed it.
Im the same way with the 70s
She has a great voice. Sings it so well.
Good Lord was she beautiful and super talented..what an absolute masterpiece !!!!!
This band has some great tunes...well put together musically...🔥
Wow. She's pretty, can sing her ass off and she can play the saxaphone! Totally awesome!
OMG. I just found this video. My God, I wanna go back to the 80's.
Same here. Watched the stage play "Rock of Ages" last night and this song was in it. Brought back some serious memories of this decades' music!!!
Scott Fox I think we all do!!
60's & 70's. I really want to go back.
Take with you....
🥰💯✌💞🌿
For those of us that lived this moment in time it seems impossible that this was 40 years ago. Impossible.
Perfect.. Everyone should have to listen to this song before they get into their first relationship. Best song with that timeless advice to have the strength to walk away from mistreatment.
She is beautiful in that nice girl sort of way.her vocal inflections and facial expressions make me want to love her and protect her .
Yeah she is OK for a facial.
same. husband is lucky
Be careful!! her husband is beside s her😀
Hey Degenerate👉She has more talent and goodness in your pinky finger than you have in your twisted mind, spirit and body. People like you aren’t needed in the world. It’s your choice to be a piece of sh** or not.
@@juneelle370 Are you insane or what? Seeing people being in love with a woman cause of her talent and beauty triggers you? Maybe they should send you to the moon and throw away the key. Being a musical performer is also about seduction with the audience and I'm betting she would be flattered to see these comments. Because she is a good person and she is sane.
Just saw Marv and her tonight first concert they have done in two years. They both are great celebrating there 50th anniversary. Keep on rocking!
Where did you see them perform.
Hard to believe 50 years! That's awesome. Marv turned 71 past January & Rindy turns 71 this coming June.
Saw them at the long beach wa. Pe
Reforming arts center. Great venue only 39 seats
I get those feel good chills when I hear her play that saxophone 🎷
So many memories from the wonderful 80's flood back listening to this .. love it, she's great, such talent
They both signed my copy of Creem magazine with Rindy as the Creem dream centerfold, she was in red high heels holding her sax in front of her in the pic. It made her blush but I have to say she still looked great, she'll be 70 this year!
Got to see them back in the day, live. My best friend wanted to see Rick Springfield and I wanted to see them, as they were one of the other opening acts. The other opening act, was then known only as John Cougar.
Thank you for the reminder about “Take me to heart”. Great tune 👍🏻👍🏻
58 years old this year 2022 and still loving this song!!

80's music was awesome.
I was 13 listening to this masterpiece back 1982. Sadly this era in great music will never be duplicated.
Glad we got to live in an Era of great music. Unlike the shit they play today.
entièrement raison c'était une époque formidable car actuellement ce n est plus pareil Claude progni
I agree, even though I wasn't even alive then.
Amen !!!!!!I don't know what they call that crap on the radio today!!!
Dang, that woman has it all. Both beautiful AND extremely talented.
And Smart (YOU ever look at a word and think to yourself what the hell kinda word is that, LOL)
