In one of the videos of Yu Peng Chen, he expressed that he actually likes making music for Genshin Impact but he left to give way to this juniors/students in Mihoyo music department to shine on their own.
Now I understand that Genshin was built on Yu Peng Chen style all along, his music doesn't have Genshin's vibe, Genshin has YPC style and I absolutely love it, you can really tell he had very BIG "IMPACT" on genshin, he really is the Music Archon man it is amazing
It‘s so great to finally see Yupeng Chen's album released, the song from the video is are so well composed and definitely his style, so much love and enthusiasm in it.
I imagine the production costs were high for recording the album already, but to have a produced video like this with the musicians all together has to be like x2 cost.
Camera crew, audio crew, conductor, all the musicians, agents for folks, likely catering of some sort for all the performers and staff, rental of that space... easily $30k USD for this video alone.
Omg, you didnt recognise Yu Peng hahahahaha..... At least you found out in the end. And love that you specifically picked up on how awesome the pianist is before realising it was the man himself. Epic
@@Samizard Haha I recognise him because he would sometimes perform the piano for certain Genshin livestream for their Version announcements although not recently. For the first 1-2 years in Genshin, he would appear in some BTS videos explaining some of the music making process e.g. I remember him talking about the difficulty of recording Inazuma's music during pandemic, collaborating with Japanese artists and orchestra without the ability to travel there in person.
Exactly, each song is a letter dedicated to each region. So sorry to see the final goodbye, looks like no chance to listen to his version of the last region which I liked so much of his dragonspine songs...
For those who don't watch til the end - I do eventually find that YPC is the one playing piano 💀
lmao!
"ill try not to talk over the music" proceeds to never shut up while music is playing 😭😭😭🤣🤣 the yu-peng effect, makes you wanna express every emotion
guys, thats Yu Peng Chen on the piano btw!
The album is pretty much a reverse chronologically ordered love letter to genshin. The order of songs is no coincidence.

He might be the first musical artist outside of gaming that I genuinely listen to constantly, I am in love with his style and love how it sounds.

There are videos of his older works, there's a Shanghai tourism commercial so something, and much older 8 piano etudes. Cool stuff
I listen to the album for hours already, this track especially for like 20+ times
I fckin love it
Look forward to your reaction for the entire album!
1:57 I love how on-point your musical intuition is!!
For people who not know YPC, YPC is the one who plays piano
piano archon making banger piece
My #1 or #2 track in thr album is probably ascending dive towards the pyramidion. Such a rollercoaster

I honestly don't know that I'd ever seen him prior to watching this video 💀

@@Samizard or like the video where he explained he composed a piece for Sumeru using a math sequence
Dunno why but this track felt like a love letter to Fontaine/Teyvat as a whole. Can't stop listening to it

Will you be making more videos for the other music video he made and the behind the scenes? Would love to see those!
Probably! Lots of other folks have expressed similar interest
The Arlecchino music video was recorded in the Tokyo Philharmonic Orchestra, not in London.
Good to know! I remember there being a massive organ there too so that's the first place that came to mind
This one is Yu Peng Chen challenging Fontaine's team 😂.
the goat yu peng mdk cheng
YPC be like: nah, screw the piano sheet, i am gonna do it myself
I want Yu Peng Chen to collaborate with Vanguard Studios to make banger OST's for Wuthering Waves.
Ohhh lordy that sounds amazing
