I always put my ice into a ziplock bag to let it freeze, then I use a large spoon to break up the ice cubes into individual cubes and then put them in my ice machine for dispensing. I have never had a problem with this.

Thanks for your video! I just put our Santern together and got very concerned when the only thing happening was water flowing over what I thought were the ice cube trays. And why in the world were the trays vertical instead of horizontal? They will never fill up with water like that! I was ready to pack it in until my husband showed me your video. I feel much better now...
