  • I'm a big fan of Field Cast Iron so no surprise to me that I fell in love with my new #9 Griddle. In this video, I show off the ease of release and excellent results of making a Canadian Flapjack, Crepes, and a Burrito, with special guest stars!

    Cashew Cream Roux
    2 tbs cashews
    1/2 water
    2 tbs olive oil
    3 tbs white flour
    2 tbs nutritional yeast
    1 tsp mustard
    1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
    1 tsp acid - either lemon juice or apple cider vinegar
    1/4 tsp salt
    dash black pepper
    Method:
    Blend the cashews and water until warm, set aside
    Heat a small saucepan to med heat
    Add olive oil
    slowly whisk in flour until you have a thick but runny paste
    cook for a minute
    slowly add warm milk, constantly whisking
    continue adding milk until you have a custard type consistency
    add fried mushrooms and onions or anything you like
    Spelt and Flax Pancakes
    1 cup Spelt flour
    1 tsp flax seed
    3/4 cup plant-based milk
    dash of salt
    dash of maple syrup
    1 tbs baking powder
    1/2 tsp acid - either lemon juice or apple cider vinegar
    Method: add all ingredients to the blender
    Add more water if the batter is too thick - different flours react differently
    Cook on medium heat until brown
