    Pirate skull was part of the original signage of Treasure Island (on the Strip) when it first opened in the '90s
    9:28 Lido de Paris was the main show at the Stardust - topless showgirls

  • @Ziggyaig
    @Ziggyaig 3 роки тому +25

    The lamps are from The Aladin, the huge skull is from when Treasure Island was really pirate themed. Those "coins" are from The Fitzgerald's.

    We got to go there in late 2019. And both of us being huge Tim Burton fans were very lucky they were running a special exhibition of his art in the museum. Which might explain the Beetlejuice sign

    Good afternoon Jacob,a new day, a new adventure.What great sculptures,which are worth to be in a museum. I think we have to remember to all the people who have build these great signs,the electricians who have build the circuits, and also not the people who have maintened the lightbulbs.That's a real part of the US history.Only one word:"Amazing".🇺🇸👍Greatings from 🇩🇪

    If you ever make it to Livermore, CA we happen to have the world’s oldest continuous burning lightbulb. It is in one of our fire stations. We also have the Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory (there is a visitor center) a ton of wineries and the windmills on the Altamont Pass. Worth spending a day if you’re in the San Francisco Bay Area, in my opinion anyways. Thanks again for your videos.

    JC!! That was another great one... I worked in Vegas in the 80's at the Sahara... so seeing that sign was pretty cool. There were a bunch that were actually on their buildings working, the last time I saw them! Like the Fitzgerald coins... that was a very brash and fun sign... lots of movement. Also, the Stardust was there when I was there... torn down now. They had one of the BEST signs... all those weirdo diamond kind of sparkle shapes were from the Stardust... super duper glittery. The Stardust had vertical neon tubes about 10 or 12 feet tall along the second level of the front strip facing building. Blue and pink and hundreds of them chasing across the ENTIRE FACADE of the building. So excellent. Thanks man!!

    Stuff I'm old enough to remember: The camel sign from the Sahara, the stars from the Stardust, the front of the Riviera, the gold Aladdin lamp that would spin around, The signature sign from the Liberace museum, AND the Silver Slipper from the Silver Slipper Saloon. ( I was really little and remember watching the lights on the white slipper spin around while standing in a parking lot waiting for my parents to stop talking to someone.) Do they still have the original shoe? I know there's a replica outside on the streets around Fremont. So very cool. I'm glad more people can go there now.
