The palindromes in Korean work with the syllables, not to the exact letter as in english. The translators picked different words for the english subtitles like "kayak" or "rotator" to get the idea of palindromes across.

Why does she introduce herself like that?

Her name is a palindrome "u young u" read the same whether is read straight or flipped, the same with the words she mention "gi ro gi" "to ma to", etc. We autistics sometimes can't avoid to give long explanations even if the social situation says we shouldn't 😅
