      @@mategradac199 Not exactly. It didn't have the dummy run by the first player nor the goalscorer slipping to the side completely away from the wall with the 2nd person passing the ball onto the goalscorer weaker left foot. There is still a noticeable difference. The Argentine set piece is a very close replica of the USA 94 World Cup between Sweden v Romania. This Swedish set piece was the first I've seen done at the World Cup.

    Nethetheless there have been massive improvement to English development of technical ability since the 1990s, but the culture is still the same, which favours strength and speed over possesion. I don’t think this will ever change because people here prefer to watch fast league games, rather then slow continental style play. This is not a belief that the English system is superior, it is just the culture. The same way in Spain the culture is possession football

    Argentina vs England is a dream match... Argentina dont forget the falklands... is the lastest war for us and this thing make the derby passionale. We sing in every single match "El que no salta es ingles" ... I dont know if another international derby has a own song :) England people be pride to be our derby... we know how warm up the match ;) Sorry about my english.

    David Batty, an aged Merson and Ince. We didn't have the strongest squad back then if you think about it. I remember us having Danny mills playing in the world cup too. Definately not World Cup winning potential amongst those.

    Sorry, but this game had EVERYTHING. Great goals, great skill by both teams, awesome effort down to ten men by England, controversy, and drama all the way. It was a fantastic game.

    i'm english and it really pisses me off that we still "expect" to do well at every tournament we play in just because we won the world cup once..i'm so glad they took that star off the kit and think of the future not the past!!

    @Cruyff1987 Lots of English players have said that he can be the next Shearer.Owen and Beckham are the only ones still playing.So who cares about that list?And Hateley,Wilkins,Stevens,all came to Rangers.And I am pretty sure we signed Gary Stevens from a English club.Your thinking about Trevor Steven,and we had him to.I have to de code what you type.Its like playing a cross word or something with you.SOUNESS,LAW,JORDAN,ARCHIBALD,BLACK,McINALLY,JOHNSTON,COLLINS,LAMBERT,all played abroad 2 for us.

    don't be so stupid, the great teams of international football are greatly admired and respected in England. Watch this game back, it is the hardest fought game by England of the whole 98 tournament

    Let's not be complete asses on youtube again, I'm from Finland and everyone knows we are the best football nation in the world - so hear it from me, Argentina vs England clashes are legendary, two great rivals giving it all they got, some classic games, some great joy and heartbreak - and often going to the penalties, sadly enough - but that's how it works between two equally masterful teams. Have respect for both the winners and losers. Sportsmanship, people, sportsmanship. Is it dead?

  • @KaitainCPS
    @KaitainCPS 15 років тому

    Yeah, this game WAS pretty great. England outplaying Argentina for 73 minutes with only ten men after Simeone's cheating...great stuff. And then Argentina dumped out in the next round easily, with Bergkamp showing them what REAL class is.

    @lexa9876 i see what ur saying bro, but still i dont understand how that can be...when rivaldo got the ball on his knee, the turkish dude didn't shoot hard, and he aimed low, and beckham givin ur fellow argentine a minor kick, i see that this is not called for but those are but tiny signs of irritation. and as long as they dont injure a player i dont think it should be more then a yallow card max. i hope you see what i mean. if beckham had injured the guy, then i would totally agree.

    in fact, that's exactly what I meant - arrogance! you call me stupid without knowing who I am, what I've seen, or anything at all for that matter. Merely because my opinion is not in favor of England. As to the topic - if you've seen English fans who have respect to other teams, then you're in a good circle. I obviouly had my reasons to say what I said. and trust me - these reasons are not groundless. Good luck.
