Really great video. That said if i'm raising a food product I don't want it to have a personality and higher reasoning capabilities, sorry I just can't get behind that logic. Surprisingly the origin of this breed has not been stated anywhere in the video. It’s derived from Indian cattle bred for thousands of years in the subcontinent. Brahman is an Indian word. You want to calve Brahmans when it's above 40 degrees F. so the calves get up and going, once the calves are a few weeks old they can handle the cold...other than that....if you make sure they have plenty of forage they do fine in cold weather, all that skin actually bunches up and helps insulate them. Brahman, or other bos indicus species, might work in Canada if crossbred with a bos taurus species, I don’t know. But pure bred Brahman cattle, definitely not. No way. It would be far too cold for them and they would be unhealthy and miserable.
My comment before this video was removed and posted again was about better and more efficient system of production than just brahma for meat, Here in Colombia the major cattle breed is brahma, but now cattlemen are switching to double purpose cattle and for tropical conditions they are changing to GYR that is an Indicus race like brahma race, they are cebu too, but the gyr is cattle for Milk too, the males are good for meat and the females are good for milk the champions of the GYR are in Brazil, the efficiency is done by cows that produce an average here in colombia of 20 liters per day in grazing conditions no special forages or concentrated food, the incomes of the milk pay the expenses and you get some profit too, plus the profits of the meat, but if you have better pastures, forages, and concentrated food you get champion cows with 50/60/70 liters of milk like in brazil, another good breed is Gyrolando the cross breeding between GYR and Holstein. and now we are using artificial Insemianation with bulls betacasein A2A2, because that´s the future of the milk.

The Brahman is an American breed of zebuine-taurine hybrid beef cattle. It was bred in the United States from 1885 from cattle originating in India, imported at various times from the United Kingdom, from India and from Brazil. These were mainly Gir, Guzerá and Nelore stock, with some Indu-Brasil, Krishna Valley and Ongole. The Brahman has a high tolerance of heat, sunlight and humidity, and good resistance to parasites. It has been exported to many countries, particularly in the tropics; in Australia it is the most numerous breed of cattle. It has been used in the creation of numerous taurine-indicine hybrids, some of which - such as the Brangus and Brahmousin - are established as separate
I’d love to find a Brahman that would be sub 1000 lbs. my range is Rustin Loam in hills. I have excellent grasses but the land simply can’t take a heavy animal.
There are many breeders breeding smaller sized ones, I have one cow that is around a 1,000 lbs or less. Most of my Brahmans are 1,200 lbs with a few going around 1,400 lbs. But a moderate sized cow with lots of beef is a money maker vs a monster sized mama.
Cyan Briles. I live in the tropics and we have plenty of brahmans back here in Zambia, Africa. a lot of farmers complain that they take too long to reach puberty and are generally not too fertile. what's your explanation
Moonga Mizinga, here in the USA Brahmans are slow maturing, usually not breeding until they are 24 months old....but they seem to breed until they are into their late teens and that makes up for it. Fertility is around 85% here in the USA. Even though Brahmans can tolerate poor conditions when body condition drops so does fertility. US producers typically worm their Brahmans 2 to 4 times a year and I think that helps as well.

Actually very good beef. All livestock should be treated with respect and care. Just because they are raised for food doesn’t disqualify them from a great life.
They have originated from Indian cattle. But it has nowhere been acknowledged in the video. What is Brahman? It’s an Indian word meaning the soul, the universe, the entity!
That is Indian breed. And they are not beef meat cattle. You kill them and you Are doing a sin. They are intelligent and emotional and motherly. They were not created idiot. They are from MahaBharath Great Bharat and that is where the name Brahman comes from because Brahmans value their cows as GoMatha CowMother and Brahmans are not the cow breeds name it is name of the people who valued the cows.
By drinking milk also you are doing a sin because the dairy industry is far more exploitative than the meat industry and the dairy industry directly contributes to the meat industry... do some research... ...farm cattle are bred for animal products.... chickens, goats & cows are farm animals.... that's how people use them around the world...🤷♂️...
@@ckumar214 Do stick to the topic. When asked to write an essay on a topic cow, you cannot tie the cow on a coconut tree and then write the whole essay on the coconut tree. I was saying that killing the Indian cow was a sin and you are talking about a different topic of drinking milk and then again you are diverting from the topic of "drinking milk" to "dairy industry" and making a foolish unrelated claim that drinking milk is a sin. All human beings drinking milk don't drink Diary industry produced milk. Speaking about MahaBharath the diary industrialization itself is foreign, every Indian house that I know of has had a cow, but if you want to assume that you were implying to speak only about those who drink diary industry produced milk, then you must have made it more specific because that would have given an imaginary leverage to the foolish claim. An intelligent person will claim that establishing a diary industry where the (assumed to be) no longer useful cows are slaughtered is a Sin. The diary farms where the cow is taken care till it's natural death (there are these types in India) are not Sinful in the sense that the cows are not being slaughtered. So if you want to make a point about something "do some research"

@Jithin Jose us keralites... Look up moplah massacre. Your ancestors must be proud of you.
On the contrary it is a shame that a Protein deficient country like India uses this cattle only for milk, when if is far more efficient to use it for beef also... It would be a cheap source of protein for the majority of the population.
Zebu is the best grass-fed beef.
Brahman origin is India.
Can i buy the Brahma bulls, and can you deliver door to door in Bangladesh?
Brahman COw is from India, the name is al;so indian sanskrit
Its a cross bred Indian-eurpoean blend

And 0 grams of Cholesterol - taste just like Rattle Snakes - so why not eat Rattle Snake.
Because ever try to drive a herd of rattlers to market/slaughter?
catch 1 and cook!
Huh?
No shame before killing them?😣
They don't because they don't know how great they are.
They belong to India.
Cuz it's for meat purpose.
No, they taste GREAT! You should eat beef too
WTF would you feel "shame" for slaughtering a food animal? That makes zero sense.
Have you looked around in India, the space humans take up denies space to all else. That itself is a form of animal slaughter, you just dont see it
Tough breed drought insect resistance, tough meat, I'll take a picana off a Hereford.
Am o treabă cu tine rrrraaaa

Brahmin cettle is not etting/ beef cttle , the cows is a milking and other use full animal , pl dont used brahmin cows beef, this is my sugesation।
I guess you don't eat them...
oh yes they make great beef
Actually very good beef. All livestock should be treated with respect and care. Just because they are raised for food doesn’t disqualify them from a great life.
@@YanasaTV I know .. being born a bull has it good points and bad ones...I am a steak eater..
Is a Brahma a religious teaching that includes the sacred cow?
nope
its bos indicus indian breed ...
All brahman cattles look like indian cattles.....
They are
They have originated from Indian cattle. But it has nowhere been acknowledged in the video. What is Brahman? It’s an Indian word meaning the soul, the universe, the entity!
@@ldnoida001 They do refer to them as _Bos indicus_ several times

beef eating should be prohobited all across world
I had one but,,,,,,,, I ate it.
Great Beef! We just had some last night for burgers.
*all cattle breeds have similar back stories...
