I'm getting a really annoying noise from my telecaster single coil, I'm not so bothered about the actual amp noise (preamp in my case) with the distortion, but I think what I'm getting is more of a ground noise.. and I'm actually getting it when I'm on bypass. Will this work with that? Thanks very much
Great question - depending on where the grounding issue or noise is coming from, this should work perfectly for that. Two options - if the issue is coming from the guitar, putting this pedal between the guitar and the amp should do the trick, otherwise, the second option would be to put the noise gate in your amp's effects loop (if your amp has one) should take care of the problem. Hope this helps!
I have a brand new cabinet from Harley Benton and when I connect it to a Hughes and Kettner Spirit of Rock amp there's a really loud amp noise when it's turned on and I don't play. Even when the gain is at minimum. Will a noise killer be able to silence this?
Hmm, it might - does the amp still make that noise when you unplug the guitar cable from it? If the noise is from something in the amp, a noise killer might not help, but if it is humming coming from an issue in the guitar or the cables, it should be able to help that.
Hey Graeme - great question. I have mine around -20 because it allows for a long sustain (like holding a chord at the end of a song) with the distortion pedal I have in front of it in the signal chain. Each rig setup will require a different setting on the noise gate, but it can definitely allow for a long sustain if dialed in correctly. Thanks!
So.........A F T E R distortion . I'm learning and I've been playing off and on for 30 years , then I see a 5 year old just nail Eruption and I chunk my guitar in the closet .
Haha I hear ya! I'm the same way - every time there's a kid just shredding, make one question their own playing hahah. Yeah these pedals are great, and super helpful. Thanks for checking out the video!
My kind of demo/review, straight to the point, honest and competent. Nice Les Paul BTW.
Thanks very much! Glad it was helpful. And thank you! Love this one - super playable \../, I appreciate it!
I've been using it for years. Its a keeper! Along side the yellow compressor and black secret it's one of mooers best pedals.
They've got some great stuff! The Mod Factory is really fun too.
@@JustinBlair got the wahter its built like a tank!
@@melodicshredder5834 Awesome! Yeah MOOER stuff is super solid - never had any problems with any of my MOOER pedals
Fantastic, same features than Donner noise killer pedal, both of them are great
It's a great one! Thanks for checking out the review \../,
Thanks so much for the great review!
Thank you, Sahan! Glad you enjoyed it!
Hi Justin! Does this pedal work on bass? Great vid!
Hey Valentin! Glad you liked it! Yes, it would work for bass as well. Thanks!
thanks mate, good vid.
Thank you! Glad you enjoyed the vid. Much appreciated
Hi Justin! Great vid! Have you ever compared it to Boss NS2 or Rowin? Tnks!
I haven't! Do you have one you like the most?? For the price, it's a pretty great option

@@JustinBlair thanks for your answer. I tried it out without plugging in a guitar and it's still there, so it might be the amp 🤦
@@SohoInk Ah yeah that sounds like it's most likely the amp, so this probably won't help there - sorry about that. Possibly a grounding issue?
Did you find the pedal to affect your tone at all? Some cheaper noise gates are said to negatively affect your tone
Ah, sorry, I just saw this comment- no, I haven't noticed any tone interference at all. Thanks for watching!
@@JustinBlair haha no worries mate, I ended up getting this pedal a few months ago seems to work great
@@jasonlongo6823 Very cool-- Glad you dig it, man!
yo you can plug this in straight into the input slot right? no more of them send - return stuff?
Yep! Can go right into the input, no problem
@@JustinBlair nice nice 👍👍👏👏
what about 60 cycle hum from single coils ?
If I put the threshold to about -20(where you have yours), how does it affect sustain? thanks

@@JustinBlair thanks, my mooer broke so I replaced it with a Fortin Zuul. Both perform well
I didn't know I needed one until I NEEDED ONE , it's a do nothing pedal that does it's job ....who'da thunk ?
Right?? Seems so unnecessary until you start using it haha
