As an American. Frank Bruno is a warrior. He was a humble and great fighter. He's still an absolute gentleman, and he represents the best of the UK has to offer and is an inspiration to all the young fighters in England.
Kind words. Thank you. We had some great champs but the United States had the greatest boxers of all time. Ali, Dempsey, Louis, Sugar Ray Leonard and Robinson, Marciano, Hagler, Hearns, Tyson, Holmes, Holyfield, Roy Jones Jnr, Bowe, Foreman, Frazier and the greatest of them all.....Apollo Creed.
Saw Frank years ago at a sports event. Brilliant on stage, wonderful stories, audience interaction and freely mingled after the contractual bits. It actually got to a point where his manager had to grab him or he'd miss a train! Legend.
The ultimate gent, a true man of the people is Frank. Glad to see his protégé Daniel Dubois getting a title shot on Saturday, he really reminds me of Frank with how he fights.
I miss the 80’s and 90’s. England 🏴 seemed to be much more together. Remember the Bruno fight - seemed like the entire country and the various communities backed Bruno. These days you wouldn’t get that.
@@EdOeunaBruno was a unifying force, he never did or said anything to divide potential fans so he never really lost that many fans and only gained them.
I remember it well, Bruno rocked Tyson I just wish he’d have followed it up and finished the Job, sadly not to be, Frank you are a true Gent and National treasure, all the very best to ya
Yeah, they'll come believing and hoping they can do that. At his prime, Iron Mike was unstoppable. So you can throw your best and just hope and believe just like the rest, but it never happens.
One decent punch and still didn't even win the round. Lost all 8 rounds over the 2 fights. Spent the whole time holding on to tyson trying to wear him out. He got battered
When I watched the original, it spurred me to go around at night checking all my windows and doors were shut and locked and the curtains pulled. So I’m not sure watching this us a good idea😂
I remember Frank, I always thought he was the most ripped, fearsome looking boxer... but after seeing him being interviewed, he was too nice to be a champion boxer, he didn't have that ferocious, killer persona that so many did. Still love the guy and all that he achieved!
I still remember in 1989 - aged 7 - my Dad asking me whether I’d be supporting Bruno or Tyson. I’d never heard of Bruno at that age but I guessed Bruno and (as he was British) he was pleased.
I don’t know if you remember Dennis the Pennis? He used to do a BBC show and travel around making lame jokes and throwing childish insults at celebrities. Bruno is the only guy he ‘buzzed’ who let out a huge laugh in response. The line was: “Frank, are you worried your boxing is going to get in the way of your pantomime career?”
I remember seeing Frank Bruno a few weeks before his fight in the Holiday Inn in Swiss Cottage. He gave me an autograph - one of the nicest people you can ever meet!
People forget TYSON had a long layoff before that 1st BRUNO fight, and he was going through EXTREME PROBLEMS during that time. Lol From BREAKING HIS HAND IN STREET FIGHT VS MITCH GREEN, CAR CRASH THAT KNOCKED HIM OUT, MARRIAGE PROBLEMS, GAINING WEIGHT, LEFT KEVIN ROONEY, LEGAL PROBLEMS WITH MANAGERS, and many more troubling things. So he was extremely RUSTY in that BRUNO fight, and he never really became the full primed FIGHTER he was before that layoff. That was the beginning of his decline.
He did rock Tyson heavy. This is where everyone started saying he stopped using the jab to open and move in and looked for one body shot to set up a headhunting shot. Ngl im glad the frank team picked up on this. Sadly frank wasn’t good at sticking to the jab and moving and didn’t have a good stiff jab. Buster Douglas saw that fight and added some lateral movement and boom. The blue print to beat the peek a boo. Unless you’re George Foreman, then you just punch your way through
Brings so many memories back seing him again and God I remember the hype behind Bruno he should be on the TV more.i wonder if he could go back would he change his fight plan
Looks can be terribly deceiving - when you compared Bruno's physique to Tyson you would have thought Bruno waa going to win but Tyson had the hunger, mentality, strength and discipline. Tyson was always going to win until he decided he wasn't and that's when he made the speech to everyone about leaving boxing. Tyson was so connected to himself and yet so disconnected. A truly underated and interesting boxer.
love frank and his spittin' image puppet. "me and my trainer are working on something called ducking, thus avoiding the unpleasantness of a smash in the gob"
Frank has the voice they use when they interview someone that has their identity hidden
Hahahaha he has bass in his voice and his laugh is how I imagine a giant would laugh lol

Yep, tyson h7mbled him, witherspoon knocked him senseless, bonecrusher flattened him and massively pre prime lewis beat him.

Definitely, bruno was a great fighter, much better than joshua
No he wouldnt, stop overrating past boxers. Bruno only beat one good fighter in his entire career and that was oliver McCall in a semi close fight
True Champ
I never thought I would see this in a million years, considering Farage's record on nationality and race.
Bruno actually had a pretty good fight. But tyson kept ringing that bell
Well all the fighters who beaten him were one time or another world champions, so therefore Bruno is no chump.
