Our forecast in Asheville is 12 hours below freezing with a low of 27 😭 It will be like this for the next 3 nights. I've covered as much up as I can, but I don't know if that will be enough to save them. Thanks for the information. I have a better understanding of what happens to them.
So what should I do with the boxed roses I bought that are partially leafed out? I've been bringing them in when temps hit 32...should I leave them out all the time...our coldest temp in the 7day is 25.
I've heard we should water roses a day or two before a freeze because it is supposed to be better for a freeze to hit a hydrated plant than a dry one. Is this true?
Thank you very much my brother, you are always a blessing to the Spencer estate. Be blessed from South Louisiana.
I appreciate that
Great info, your a true rosarian ty Paul

Covering them will help a lot. If, over the next few weeks, you start to see die back stay on top of it.

Bring them into an unheated building like a garage.
I'm curious, just for future knowledge, will it make a difference if I were to cover a rose when it got that low for 4+ hours in a late freeze?
It can't hurt it and may help. So yes.

I think it is. We had a really good rain all day Sunday so mine are in good shape that way.
