I love the opening sequence when Schoen clowned Gio on the Fan!
What was crazy was Hyatt was talking about "Uncrustables" on the very same day on the Huddle show too. Which isn't a lot, but it's weird it happened twice. 🤣
The Uncrustables Conspiracy 😂
lmao
if darnay was a little bigger he would make a fantastic LB. the people who question why he plays so much over different regimes fail to realize how important it is for nickel DB's to defend the run. if you can't stop the run, your coverage is irrelevant because they will just run it down your throat. he isn't a star but for what he is, Holmes fills a role.
He covered ceedee lamb pretty damn well. Real ones know
He plays like a dawg down in the box…never shys away from contact! I give him a lot of respect for his fight
Great video guys as always. Hardknocks really fills the void until camp. The 45 minutes goes by like a flash. Pbj's and f bombs from the gm, gotta love it. I think Brandon Brown will get good exposure and will likely get GM offers next year. Will Panthers GM and Giants GM be vacationing together again this year? Keep it coming guys. Also suggestion for future show, compare roster if Burns trade not made and Giants pick at 37 and have additional cap space outcome to the roster today.
Re: the Sunday ticket / cap situation topic: There won't be any effect to the cap. The cap is based on the amount of revenue the NFL makes (but only certain Revenue streams).
Profit = Revenue - Expenses
1. The NFL has to pay money for these settlements, it won't affect their revenue directly, only their expenses.
2. The cap is not affected by Sunday Ticket revenue whatsoever. Therefore, the NFLPA cannot be sued as co-defendants with the NFL in these cases--since they didn't directly see the benefits of keeping the Sunday ticket prices high.
3. Moving forward, once the new CBA is put in place, the NFL could argue for a lower cap or a different calculation. However, they seem more focused on getting a game 18 than cutting the cap.
People have mixed feelings on Mike Florio, but he's been covering this case immaculately so far. He was the first person to start covering it in the media, and he's a former lawyer, so he can delve into all the details for those who are interested.
A great RB on a bad team with an awful OL is like having a picture window in a tank
Barkley was good not great & mostly hurt on Sunday. 25-48-1 when he plays. Adios he will have a high ankle sprain by week 6 & start crying about his contract. That pick is a NYG bust.
Felt to me when schoen said there would be good rb’s available 2nd week of free agency, he was expecting to have negotiations with saquon first. But when saquon went and signed with the eagles immediately, he had no reason to wait around anymore.
Schoen had to gently explain to a Bidenesque boss that we’re not spending 15M on a RB and zero on OL AND we are not drafting a RB in first or second round.
I do feel Mara insisted on DJ and Schoen was still finding his sea legs. There’s no way Dabs or Schoen thought DJ was good
Offense success depends on the o-line
Ever since they strapped on a helmet
Big blue banter yessah 🤙G-men
Great analysis! I agree that the first episode made it seem like Daniel Jones is still somewhat under evaluation. How should we square that with all the rumors about the Giants trying to trade up in the draft?
Especially considering the first episode was shot well before the draft. If Joe Schoen Is truly not out on Daniel Jones yet, then why would he have been exploring a trade-up as aggressively as he was reportedly doing.
Because it's all BS like 95 percent of reality shows.
Remember Jones' salary this season makes him the starter regardless if they were to draft ANY QB. '25 would see DJ traded or cut
2 things can be true at the same time. They might think they can succeed with Jones and at the same time realize the benefits of having a rookie QB on the roster. I hope jones works out and I think he can but I also think if we cut him and use that money to build a team and fill glaring holes, then draft a Qb for Daboll to develop, certainly could be a great plan as well.
@@user-lr1ng7xy8w If you draft a quarterback in the top five, You are drafting them to start within a season. The only way those two things could be true at once is if you are the Packers or you have an aging QB near retirement
May be worth trying to get Mara on the show everyone tries for players but it would be nice to get his perspective.
Other than the end of the season we don't hear much from him and Hard Knocks makes it look like he's stuck in the 90s
Just doing a small amount of digging on Nick pick 100 take….there’s definitely more than you think. Using just pick 100 would be disingenuous bc we don’t know who the Giants would take so I used the pick 100-110 and there are a decent amount of quality players.
We got a few interesting tid bits but that's it. The editing made the show so hard to follow and the episode was kind of all over the place. Most of the time the footage they showed had nothing to do with the audio being played, it was very bizarre. Hopefully this series isn't going to be half made up of clips of Joe Schoen talking in slow motion like the first episode was.
Well according to 1/2 the fans, John Mara wanting Jones is the only reason why hes still here. So which is it? Mara forcing Schoen to keep Jones , or he wanted to force Schoen to keep Barkley because he doesn't trust Jones.
Based on tape, and your assessment, is Runyon significantly better than Glowinski?
Better, yea. Significantly, not sure about that.
Have you seen glowinski try to pass block since he’s been a giant? Cmon
@@adamf386 Glow was the better run blocker. Run is the better pass blocker. Run is the better player. But not significantly.
@@cooldude7821, in today’s NFL you want pass protection first and foremost, making runyan significantly better in this situation.
@@adamf386You can try to spin it however you want. Run is younger & can possibly still have some upside. Glow is at the end of the road with no upside. But they are both average Olinemen.
I get that RB is a luxury bad teams can't afford, but it's exactly the same for an injury prone TE. Can't pay for an OL and pay a RB, but they brought in several OL to just keep being bad. At some point we have to realize that it's coaching, because the Giants have been terrible at developing the OL.
No diddy bro you too good looking for the state trooper stache
You gotta take that hat off Nick Thanks for the upload boys
What keeps troubling me is everyone conveniently forgets as Schoen told Frank Gore; They tried to sign Barkley roughly around 12+ mil per. He through his agent(s) turned it down..so THAT tells me he was talking out his ass when he was claiming he wanted to be a Giant for life...Just like Wink Martindale he was givin' the media what we up top call "sap rap", talking out his ass and mouth at the same time...EF BARKLEY
Do you know what the guaranteed money was. Because if you don't, then your talking out of your @$$.
@@cooldude7821who phucking cares it's 12 mil per if you can't stay a Giant like he claim Phuck him
100% agree with Joe Schoen when he said “you don’t pay a QB 40 million to hand off to a 12 million RB” .. it’s the year of Daniel jones in a sport where the QB is the most important position. Let’s finally give him an actual chance to succeed with a new o line and WR 1
Consider they have two vet OGs between a 1st Rd LT; a 2nd Rd C; a 1st Rd RT I think he should be okay
OMG.
@@nolandavidmcgarrah8810 we can only hope! But this is the best way to determine who jones is as a QB and if the giants need to move on. Luckily Schoen has an out for next year
@@alexwetmore437 exactly too much want of instant gratification has a lot of "fans" all in a tizzy🤣🤣🤣
@nolandavidmcgarrah8810 yeah stupid giants "fans" and their wishes to be modestly relevant again after a decade long hiatus.
Be patient, it's a 20 year rebuild.
Joe Schoen is getting ripped on Twitter/X for Hard Knocks quotes. Mara's gonna be pissed. This season is already starting to smell like a dumpster fire.
Glaring contradiction to me. Ok u don’t want to pay your 27 y/o star RB. So instead you over pay for an undersized, average RB that can’t get in the endzone and who also happens to be 27. Just go with the young guys and save the $16 million. Could have signed another CB, and have $ to pick up a veteran cut later. If Singletary was that good why did Bills always look to replace him and Texans let him go????
Think we all know the answer to your question.
Look at singletary’s numbers next to saquons. 🤷🏻♂️
I see what you’re saying, but Devin’s contract is only 9.5 guaranteed. 5.5 average. Still leaves like 7 mil extra then if we paid saquon. And they invested that saved cap in o lineman which is great. But I understand wanting to just roll with the super cheap rookies and saving the extra 5 mil.
@@user-lr1ng7xy8wYes and that 7mil enables them to get Eluemenor who can start at guard or move to Tackle if Neal doesn't work out. Plus he has played for Bracillo. I'd rather have Singletary and Eluemenor and Tracy than Barkley.
Schoen had to gently explain to a Bidenesque boss that we’re not spending 15M on a RB and zero on OL AND we are not drafting a RB in first or second round.
I do feel Mara insisted on DJ and Schoen was still finding his sea legs
I can't see Schoen just arbitrarily giving up $40 mil w/o Mara's OK
@@mattinnj979, mara is bad, but nowhere near Biden bad lol.
The biggest problem I have with the Barkley situation is that the Giants knew they were using him as the face of the franchise and still weren't willing to overpay him even a little. What's more ridiculous, paying Barkley 3 mill more per year than you think he's worth or paying Daniel Jones 15 million more than you think he's worth. We could have afforded the Brian Burns trade if we moved off Jones and paid Saquon.
Singletary made 1 yr 3.1mil in 2023. Who was going to pay him 5.5 in 2024? We should have been able to sign him for 3yr 12mil 8guar. I think we overpaid. But we were able to sign Eluemenor with the 7mil saved and i would rather have Singletary and Eluemenor than Barkley.
Big 6'9 Giants Bobby's podcast says you could date Joe Schoen's mother, does she have a sister? asking for a friend.
THANK YOU 😂! THAT SEGMENT WITH DANIEL JONES WAS FAKE! SCHOEN DOES NOT LIKE DANIEL JONES, AND HE SAW WHAT WE SAW WHEN TYROD TAYLOR STEPPED ON FIELD AND WHEN TOMMY DIVITO STEPPED ON THE FIELD ALSO!
Jalen Hurtz makes 60 mill and he will be handing the ball of to a 12 mill back. Let's be honest Howie Roseman is a far better GM than Joe. He is going down with this 40 mill ship that is why he said it. 3 yrs in and if you still have a 6-11 record, all 3 of you are done Jones, GM, and coach. It's funny you shit on barkley, but look at the record with him vs w/o. Jones sucks bad without him. Show me one throw from last year that makes you think DJ will proper utilize Nabers. At this point as a fan it feels like the dan brown era only longer.
“Tin foil hat” = “conspiracy thinking” so you need another metaphor
no one cares or believes hard knocks.....never watched...its all fake ...waste of time......
