    • @jomahawk7488
      @jomahawk7488 Рік тому +5

      That actually wasn’t a shotgun. I thought so myself for a long time, but according to Imfdb (the internet movie firearms data base), it’s a Howdah Pistol. Very large caliber, very possibly .577. But fires one large projectile instead of several smaller shot pellets.
      And I know that shotguns have slugs, but the main difference is that the Howdah is basically a sawn-off rifle. Meaning the barrel is rifled instead of smooth bore like a shotgun is.
      You’ll also notice that when the wall behind where Sherlock’s head was explodes from the first shot, there is only one, relatively small hole, instead of a spread of holes from a spread of shot.

    I like how the whole scene has windows on one side and solid walls on the other 3 in that room, yet the outside look at the building shows it to be a corner room, so where are the windows on the side where the fireplace smoke came from? That's clearly a fuck up on the editing part, but otherwise, solid movie.

    Like the smoke would hang so low. Usually fills a room top down. Not too realistic that way, clearly a smoke machine was used.

    • @mattg8600

      Could hang that low depending on the type of wood that was burnt

      ok, but how did he breath in there? he should be coughing like a 90 year old lung cancer patient

    • @Shiirow
      @Shiirow 3 роки тому +4

      @@nitro-ww6sk because he wasnt in the smoke, it was a diversion to keep his attention, he assumed Holmes was inside and with the sound ricocheting around the room, it would be hard to discern where the voice was coming from. it gave him ample time to loop around behind the pillars and furniture to the chair he was sitting in when he was revealed.

    Big question: How did Sherlock not need to cough once when he’s was in all that smoke?
    Edit: I also realised recently that my eyes tended to water when they are in smoke, so how he isn’t affected by that as well, not sure
