Retired, but not really retired. Really love seeing a video like this again. Your repair videos are always a joy to watch. Hopefully we will continue to see some videos like this every so often. God bless you Jerry.
Good to see a instrument repair again, I know you don't do much of those things anymore more, but that's what got me, interested and to subscribe to your channel, it has always amazed me how you can fix string instruments. I have learned alot by watching you. Thank you....Roger Amos Southeast Missouri
A small favor from Mr. Rosa for a friend. An immensely impressive repair for someone from the outside. If one could just have this level of ingenuity. Anyway, what a joy to see a current instrument repair from Mr. Rosa. And a song at the end. That has always been my favourite part!
Didn’t realize you retired from repair work. Just want to say thanks for all the knowledge you’ve shared with us and all you’ve taught me. Currently working on piecing a 1967 Gibson 12 string back together. I 100% would not have the skill/guts to do it had I not watched 100’s of your videos. So… Thanks Jerry!
Always a pleasure to watch you repair bowed strings, Jerry! This week I had an oddity, two double bases where the back came loose from the neck block. Easy repair. Just takes time and clamps.
Thanks Jerry- Great to see you again. I have always enjoyed watching your problem solving methodology- you inspire me!! I have worked on guitars my whole life, and you have given me so many useful tips that I have adopted and made my own. I hope to see you again on youtube in the future, but like the old sitcoms, I can always watch your "reruns" Good luck and God bless!!
I just watched a video of you fixing a fiddle and when the video switched to a close-up of the top of base and the huge bridge etc with you standing behind it my brain said you shrank.... ALOT !!! 😂😂😂😂😂😂
I am always amazing by the ingenuity you employ... At first that looked like an impossible to clamp without taking it apart kind of job, but that looks great!
What it;s all about is the adhesion versus the cohesion. The least amount of glue makes the strongest glue joint!!! Fillets do nothing It's what is between the parts that work!!
Would it have been possible to get a metal plate with a hole in the center into the bass and onto the threaded rod before threading on the nut and then use that to clamp the tailblock better?
I guess it might have been possible but not very practical I don't think because of the tight f holes and how big the plates would have to be to really be effective
I just fixed my fiddle the same problem at the tailpiece was all separated, I always use type 2,I was wondering what glue do you use?... It came out nice it's holding pitch I still need to put the soundpost in but it is holding pitch
Jerry Rosa. World Artistic Clamping Champion ( retired undefeated) shows he's not lost any skill as he faces a final battle !😂👏

Good to see this type of content again Jerry. Real shame that you’ve had to give up regular instrument work. Another great repair b
Refreshing! Hope you can sprinkle in more instrument repairs from time to time. Miss it.
Love watching you work on instruments again 😊😊🥲
You will never know how much this video is appreciated by those of us interested in instrument repair! You most certainly have a gift!

It's great seeing some repair work again , and being from those beautiful Blue Ridge mountains of Virginia, I loved the song at the end.
The clampmeister! 👍
I really hate that your hands still hurt you, but it sure is great to see you working on an instrument 🎸 again!
Thanks Jerry!
So great to see you working with a musical instrument again, Mr. Rosa! 😃😃😃
Lord! I'm very glad to watch another such Rosa production! I've truly been going through experiencing withdrawal symptoms for a few months! 😄🤩

What a joy to watch a new instrument repair video!
I love to watch you figure out how to accomplish the result you are working towards . Thank you for this treat !!
Lovely to see you fixing again Jerry ❤
You satisfy my bass interests. I love your song rendition at the end.
Nice job..🇺🇸🌹❤️

Enjoyed the video very much!!! Thanks

Well Jerry, i think you rather enjoyed that bit of instrument work. i can tell in your voice.
👍🏼👍🏼Up Jerry, Good fix..👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
? Clamps look to be from Menards. Possibly come in a combo with one of their other Green tool brand tools Power or Max Force something like that.
Is that a blond Kay or Engelhart? I really miss my old Kay M1 1950.
If I remember correctly it's approximately a 54 Kay
Really enjoyed the live show, please tell me the thickness of your bridge removal knife in mm land. Thank you
I don't know it was a pallete knife I think from an artist palette knife set
That helps me a lot, be I know what to look for, I've been going to hardware shops let me try an art shop 👍
@@lynellerradu326: Hobby Lobby also has a large selection of artist palette knives.

I thought of that too but, it could’ve just been more weight and more rattle later on, I suppose
@@esquared232 My thought was use it has part of a clamp to pull tailblock together, but then remove it when done.
I just fixed my fiddle the same problem at the tailpiece was all separated, I always use type 2,I was wondering what glue do you use?... It came out nice it's holding pitch I still need to put the soundpost in but it is holding pitch
It's almost big enough to crawl inside to work on it😂
Titebond over hot glue? I'm going to try out that and see ....
Honestly I would never use hot glue on an instrument type bon original is the only way to go
I wonder how many nearly passed out watching this video 😆
The faint of heart.
You are a Master. Question. Your English is quite good. What did you major in in school?
Why would his English, possibly, not be good?
He lives in Missouri, USA.
@@zapa1pnt I know he's American. But he sounds very educated. his English is very correct with a precise vocabulary. But, I asked him, not you.
Jerry
We all have a calling. Consider maybe your calling is fixing musical instruments.
He answered that call a long time ago and has since retired from it.
I’ve never seen someone repair a double bass and with such profound clamping prowess!!!…lol
thats not hyde glue is it?????????
Man…that’s a lot of wood yardage to work with!
Too bad they can't do something like stem cell regenerative therapy on your hands.
