@@Deborahafter50 we live in bayside melb , the blocks are small, so we dont have so much space like you .....which im sure my dogs would love if we did , they have to make do with beach or park runs . enjoy your weekend xx

Hello Neighbor!!!! How magnificent has the Melbourne Autumn been this year? The weather certainly inspires gardening. In fact, Im watching your video on a Sunday morning thinking that I need to get into my garden also. Im also considering planting winter vegetables, just not sure which ones will survive as we get plummeting temperatures overnight in the Yarra Valley. My poor Basil bush has been a victim on numerous occasions. Happy Winter!! Lets hope the temperatures are lovely this season. Sending kind regards from the Yarra Valley.
Hello lovely! Hasn't Melbourne's autumn been absolutely magnificent this year? The days have been getting colder, but I have to say, with my menopause onset, I'm feeling just fine 😂The weather has definitely been a huge inspiration for gardening. I'm delighted to hear you're watching my video on a Sunday morning and feeling motivated to get into your garden too! I must admit Kevin and I did spend all weekend in the back yard undertaking some much needed maintenance and my back is suffering for it, but 2 of the many more tasks that I'd wanted to get through have been accomplished, I guess there's next weekend to look forward to 🙄 Planting winter vegetables sounds like a great idea. In the Yarra Valley, with those plummeting overnight temperatures, hardy vegetables like kale, broccoli, Brussels sprouts, and carrots may do well. Personally, I'm not too sure either what to plant in my veggie patch. Sad to hear about your basil, it can be quite sensitive to the cold, but perhaps you can try growing it indoors? I can't talk from experience, I've only just started to get the hang of indoor plants, my veggie garden tends to get forgotten, even though I start off with all good intentions 😅 Hope you got to enjoy some garden time 😚😚

Thank you for the great advice! I'll definitely start using the ashes, I didn't know that they would be good for the soil and rice water, and vegetable peels as fertilizers. Recycling organic waste is such a wonderful way to enrich the soil. I'll definitely think about incorporating composting in the garden more 😚😚
Good job Deborah. Wow, how many square metres is your property? It's huge. I wish our property looked like that. We have too many fruit trees and veggie gardens. A bit much for my husband and I to maintain, to tell you the truth 😖 I used to play tennis a lot until I had the knee issues and since then I haven't picked up a tennis racquet. But we've just spent the day working on treating the court as it's been taken over by moss and it's made me want to get back into it. My kids all played tennis growing up. Do you play tennis?
@@Deborahafter50 Hi yes I used to play tennis. I used to play fixtures when younger. Then later social tennis. Hit and miss and giggle. Although I havnt played for awhile now due to a work back injury. Which I'm alot better now. I also like dancing rock and rock and Latin American. Which hopefully I can work my way back to it. Yes alot of work looking after property keeping up the maintenance. Have a good weekend....😁
Sounds like me, sorry to her about your back injury, I'm glad to hear it's better now. Injuries are a real drag. I love the sound of dancing as a form of exercise though, do you do that in a studio or do you follow an app? Have a fabulous weekend also lovely 😚😚
