    As a 65 yr old woman that had an eating disorder for 50 years...its nice to see you young women's 'getting it' sooner & helping others. I.2 years into recovery & as an older woman getting the over shot weight off without compromising my health& eating enough...I added some things in to support my metabolism until it catches up at some point. I'm thankful for all the good people out their sharing their knowledge!
    Keep up the great work! 💖

      Thanks for tuning in ❤ I think what we’ve all gone through is a result of what the current health and wellness space preaches and what we are exposed to at a young age. Need to change the narrative 😊

    I'll always bring my daughter up to know that all foods are equal and food is more than fuel.
    No foods will ever be restricted and I'll encourage balance in all areas. I'd love to podcast with you girls may that ever arise. X

    I got pregnant within one try when I was 22. Obviously age also impacts fertility, but I was eating SO MUCH and focusing heavily on protein and root veggies to fuel my heavy weight lifting (6 days a week, 2 hours a day- which was obviously way too much but that's a different conversation). After I had my son, my ex husband wanted me to "bounce back" within 8 weeks of having a cesarean. That put so much strain on me mentally and physically, and then my father was diagnosed with leukemia. I gauned 15kgs (about 30lbs) AFTER birth. I would fast for 18 hours straight, then went extremely strict keto, eventually onto carnivore after the divorce, and then my body crashed completely. Unlearning these diet mindsets at 30 has been so difficult for me. I have not been able to conceive another child since 22 and doctors even said they think I have stage 3 endometriosis. I am determined to prove that I can heal from anything, and that I can have healthy children in my 30s. I think my thyroid has been severely impacted due to years of restriction and mental strain. I've been steadily gaining weight on the scale while implementing pro metabolic, but my clothes still fit exactly the same. Waiting on the ingredients for the adrenal cocktails I'm going to implement next and binging alllll of your content. Your podcasts have been so helpful to me!

    Excellent. Thank you so much. So many, myself included, struggle with undereating and overtraining for weight loss or maintenance of a too-lean body. Understanding and honoring our body's need for sufficient food is hugely important. Thank you for sharing your journey and the wisdom you've gained from your struggles. This is liberating and empowering.

      ❤I'm with you on this, sista. I'm having a hard time embracing this new body of mine and working to metabolically recalibrate it.

      @StrongSistas I also want to say that I really like your new format of picking a topic and engaging in dialogue with each other. And I appreciate the fact that you attend and listen to each other--that you don't compete by interrupting and talking over the other. Very refreshing--and lends itself to the audience getting the most out of what you're communicating.

    Years of indoctrination has got us to this point, having only discovered recently how much we under eat, I am blown away and as someone who has weight to lose, I will fix my metabolism and just be kinder to myself, then attempt to lose some weight.

      Life experiences is the best teacher, learning to come out of low hormonal states, low body temperature & autoimmune markers is something most doctors in training think only to medicate & are irreversible. The mainstream medical system is a pill for an ill nothing more. Functional medicine doctors on the other hand.. know these things are irreversible with food and lifestyle changes, they’ve lived it! Look at what they’re doing day to day to help others & the ecosystem! Very proud of them especially at such a young age. These lessons are learned by few

      Yes! I would trust Ashley and Sarah over even functional doctors any day-so many of them are too mainstream as well. My functional docs didn’t even know to test my thyroid, and I had classic symptoms. Had to figure it out myself with the help of the YT community. ❤

    You guys know that it's actually a SLOW metabolism that leads to a longer life right? Some people are doing caloric restriction as a longevity strategy. It's well documented in the literature that animals who undereat tend to live longer. I'm not promoting eating disorders but let's get the facts straight.

    • @CarisaRae
      @CarisaRae 3 місяці тому

      Well.. calorie restriction or fasting? I'd say not over eating... and occasional fasting yes. They are talking about being under nourished. Everything is about BALANCE in nature...
