    It would be interesting to see the same motor with 8 coils. Four on one branch, and Four on another branch.

    Hello LS, Nice motor, good job on the build. You always have something of interest. I like how you explain the theory behind it, good demonstrations. All the best from Oregon, C.

    Two capacitors in serries doubles their rated voltage. In your case your capacitors in serries is good for up to 400v ac. 😊 i would say your plenty safe opering the serries capacitors at 18v.

    Is that producing eddy current ?

    4:54: This motor would make an excellent turntable motor for a phonograph. The frequency could be adjusted by a signal generator so that it rotates at 33rpm for LPs and 45rpm for single records.

    Great setup, but I prefer a motor project with a high efficiency power source , for example from a solar cell or from a capacitor..keep inspiring.

      mpig, and how 'do you' turn these dc supplies into the 'required' alternating currents/magnetic pulses without adding more components, and so lowering the total efficiency even more...

    Can I ask a question
    If you invert the ‘inner’ to ‘outer’ of a set will the polarity be then uniform on both poles ?
    As an induction rotor has universal opposition to the feild applied how would that divide the feild?
    It’s a great video thanks for sharing

    How to make dyson v7 handheld vacuum. Brushless motor with ac?

  • @andrewkhchan

    Awesome 👏 👏 video !!!! Is the rate of rotation dependent on the rate of charge and discharge of the capacitors which is determined by the frequency of the AC??

    • @kreynolds1123
      @kreynolds1123 7 місяців тому

      The rate of rotation is dependent on three factors. Electrical phase abgke difference and the physical phase angle, as well as the load.
      There will always be slip between syncronouse with the poles and rotor rotational angle. If there were no slip, there would be no changing magnetic field on the rotor and no induced magnetism on the rotor to interact with the rotating magnetic field.
      And when it comes to a load. Greater loads slow the motor down causing greater slip from synchronousity with the changing magnetic field. Google induction motor slip torqe curve.

    I see that is how you get a big capacitance AC capacitor, but electronic capacitor behaves like ceramic capacitor only below 1Khz, if you go above that it can't filter AC noises

    You may use a signal generator to change the rpm.

    this motor is known as hysteresis motor....

    • @paulmaydaynight9925
      @paulmaydaynight9925 4 роки тому

      Hysteresis is something that happens with magnetic materials so that, if a varying magnetizing signal is applied, the resulting magnetism that is created follows the applied signal, but with a delay. ... As a general term, hysteresis means a lag between input and output in a system upon a change in direction.
      a general term, hysteresis would be like the lag in the fluid as you stir a cup of tea, it never quite catches up with the spoon
