    This really works and add on the following:- when you get to 1R win (half way) move your SL to 0.5R risk. When you get to 1.5R move to 0R SL. Reduces the losses and improves overall profitability.

    A good filter comes using an Ema 50 or 60 (h1 tf) to at least trying to avoid the counter trend ,and entering only in 2 scenarios :1) agressive - when the h1candle closes out and waiting for price to test back the range and consolidate ( requires bit of PA skill bt).so on ascending EMA one would wait for a bullish b/o only. In case of bearish b/o and ascending EMA ,there will be plenty of time to enter on the retest once the EMA curved down later during the day, the opposite for the descending EMA, Used it for very long time. You see none is so hard to pull through once you pay proper attention and put your mind to it

    Excellent. Probably the most thorough-- and quite frankly-- sane strategy for the London session I have ever seen. I laugh at myself because, although I have been using Tradingview for several years I never knew about that session indicator until now. I usually separate the sessions with vertical lines. Pretty silly. I learn something new every day, Thanks much, and all the best on the charts.

    Great content! I'm going to try this strategy on GBP/CHF with some rules.
    1. I can only go short
    2. Can only trade if the off hour range is half the pips from the session open trading hours. This is to help keep me out of trades most of the time unless it's a really good opportunity
    3. Use trailing stop instead to reduce risk and potentially take more profits

      @@TraderNick Thanks for the advice. After backtesting I think the trailing stop is too sensitive to handle any sort of volatility since we're on such a short timeframe. It's too bad I can't configure it to switch from a hard stop to a trailing stop after price reaches a certain amount. For example, after we hit the 2:1 profit goal, the hard stop changes to a trailing stop.

    • @TraderNick
      @TraderNick  5 років тому

      Trent Roberts that’s an interesting way of trading it, I haven’t thought of that. Might be pretty effective at catching a bigger portion of some of the big moves we often see.

    Too high a risk in midrange ?. Follow the strategy of 10 pips above and below 8am he candle H and L. Cancel the buy or sell stop when break up or down. Do all 6 pairs then set SL and trail at 5 pips. Target only 50 pips Risk Not more than 30 pips. Even at 1:1 six trades is a nice little income for the day and govaway

    Always watch for a rebound after 1-2 hour after the market opens that could whiplash you out too quickly. I use the 12,24,50,100 ema’s.
    Coupled with the rsi and hull MA.
    I only take trades that breakout from the 50,100ema, that keeps me out of most of the whiplash, and gives bettr confirmation of a trend that you can capatalize on.
    My targets are 30-40 pips, then sell half and set trailing stop on rest.
    Works for me. $200 - plus days trading 1 lot only.

    thanks, this is still working, i use the consolidation from the begining of tokio instead of the end of NY (as u do), and on H1 i draw the rank, but i dont consider the wicks, so at the preview of London (2am for both of us), if u see M15, it makes a false breakout out of the rank , where i enter on a trade, on the oposite direction of the false breakout, then i wait if with the same speed that the price went out from the rank, it comes back inside, then i keep the trade,if not, then i close it with few gain or loss,and most of the time, there u have a perfect entrance, from the wick (h1) before London Begins.

Switch to 5 minute time frame Just to see structure breaks, GBP USD doesn't have alotta structure breaks on the 15 min time frame and above they come less often. Aside from institutions needed to exchange/convert currencies, whenever an Asset Manager has/wants to sell/buy any Stock, in the case of Equity Portfolio Managers for example, in a non fund denominated currency there is a mechanical and obligatory FX transaction occurring: In other words, if a large Pension funds has a large global equity portfolio to manage, with a USD base currency, they will need to do a FX transaction if they buy any non USD Equities. This also can have a big impact depending on size, and create FX market moves, in a completely non-obvious apparent way when looking at the FX market directly. This is why it may be useful to pay attention at Portfolio re-balancing periods, typically end of Quarters, years, and months (in a lesser way).

    hi Nick
    tks for the video.
    will this also work trading the US break out session?
    In other words take the high and low of the London session and trade the break out during the US session.
    Appreciate your feedback

    unless you are trading this live , this is useless. you need to film yourself trading it live every day for a month and post it, so we can see your results

    Nice video Nick but there is enough research out there that shows this strategy, which is pretty easy to automate and test has no edge.
    So how do you really trade for consistent profits?

    • @TraderNick
      @TraderNick  5 років тому +4

      Guy Redares trading success is not entirely a science in my opinion. There’s a reason why system trading or entirely technical strategies rarely work. There is an art to it in my opinion, and each individual has their own “best approach” to make money in the markets. A simple “buy here” and “stop loss here” would be nice, but it’s more complex than that. Adding your own spin and finding your own style is what has worked for me. Best of luck Guy!

    @traderNick So, we would get have to start the process at 3am est time, and place our support and resistance lines then wait for the price to break out and close above or below the zone, and then take the trade? Is that correct? And this is done on the 15 min chart? Just wanted verify that I understand this concept.

    • @TraderNick

      Yup! But make sure you watch towards the end where I talk about some ways to possibly increase probability!

    Question please, why do you prefer 15min chart. I like the 15min chart but I have been using the 1hr for entry and break outs. Will I get more accurate entries in the 15min? I am not doing bad but I would like more accuracy to feel more confident.

    Is there a way to avoid fake breakouts?

    • @theelevatedinvestor9166
      @theelevatedinvestor9166 3 роки тому +1

      Yes, if you are about to buy/sell a breakout. Make sure the other side of it doesn't have equal highs/lows. For example, if you are about to buy a triangle breakout to the upside, make sure the bottom part of triangle doesn't have equal lows. This technique is useful because the equal lows act as obvious resistance and traders will place their stop losses there. Making them susceptible to market makers. The equal lows/highs will help keep you out of bad trades.
