I like to make Bowl Cozies and Oven Mitts, cut with my AccuQuilt dies, and Microwave Potato bakers for quick gifts. All sew up quickly for last minute gifts.
Pillowcases are my go to for quick Birthday gifts- eldest has a party tomorrow and the birthday child likes Spider-Man. About an hour and hand made thoughtful gift achieved!
I like to make coasters as quick gifts. People understand what they are and I’ve never had someone say they’re too pretty to use. I’ve made pot holders or hot pads in the past only to find out they were never used. Too pretty to get pasta sauce on etc.
oooo, the quilt-as-you-go packs might be a great gift for my granddaughter, who has just picked up sewing in the last year, thanks for the idea. Thank you for the video.
Thanks so much, Amy! I love Pin Cut Sew’s tutorials, and just ordered her Mason jar cozy pattern - I’ve ordered quite a few of her patterns lately, and love them all.:) Your quick gift ideas are very much appreciated at this time of year. I just told my husband I was going to be a sewing “machine” - pun intended - these next few weeks! Thanks again for the fun! My go-to hostess gift is probably a set of coasters - the ones where you fold the charm squares and layer them and then turn the whole thing inside out. No binding, and super cute with scraps.:)
I make bookmarks out my scraps. Just two pieces 3" x 6" with interfacing on one side. I've made flannel coasters for me out of the leftovers of pj bottoms.
Hi Amy, thanks for your channel. My favourite quick is the project bag from By Annie, and also the petit fours baskets also By Annie. These even suit non quilters I find. I have a quilting philosophy similar to yours and absolutely love getting other peoples scraps. Love garage sales (Aussie yard sale) op shops (Aussie thrift stores) and my quilt club members very generously give me their scraps. Curating fabric is the best...
Coasters in fabric to match the season; smallish patchwork pillow with a pillow form for stuffing. Both are great for leftover fabric from a quilt and are super quick to make. Yes, I always have a few pillow forms ready to use.
Such fun and cute ideas! A lot of these are handy to have on hand when you visit a friend or need to send a quick thinking of you gift! You are so inspiring!!!
My small remembrance gifts have been quilted postcards, Scandinavian star ornaments ( like you showed), coasters, potholders or bowl cozies. I also make jewelry, so that’s another quick gift. I need to try the mason jar cozies next.
@@amydement. they are called Kimikoni it’s Japanese originally. I use a polystyrene ball as the base. Lots of utube vids on it. They look so pretty and I bling them up, not difficult at all ( needs to be easy for me lol) .
My favorite go to gift is kitchen or bath towels. I do a lot of machine embroidery and I can set up a design to begin stitching and walk away while it is finishing! I have some favorite monograms and kitchens designs that make them quick and easy! I also pick up the June Taylor kits when they are on sale they are a quick solution to a last minute gift! Thanks for sharing all of your last minute gift ideas! With love from - Flying By The Seat Of My Pants!❤
Hello Beautiful! Who says this is last minute? We have over two weeks till Christmas! Plenty of time. I was thinking of making a quilted checker board for some kids I know., plenty of time! I collect any type of small jar/ cup at thrift stores and turn them into pin cushions. Happy Holidays.
Thank you! I’ve had them for years. I keep getting my new prescriptions refitted in them - if they ever break I’m sure I’ll cry 😢 but then on to a new look I suppose.
So what is the unboxing thing??? I started watching a couple days ago, and am unable to find day 1 of Quiltmas....... I wish folks would just number their posts......

Yes. Isn’t that funny about potholders. Coasters are a great idea!!
My go to quick gift is a knitted dish cloth or a crocheted hot pad. I make them during the year while I'm watching movies and have a stash on hand.
That's a great idea!

Where did you get those cute glasses?
Thank you! I’ve had them for years. I keep getting my new prescriptions refitted in them - if they ever break I’m sure I’ll cry 😢 but then on to a new look I suppose.

Where did you get the lid with straw for your mason jars?
Amazon. There is a link to the small jars in the description box but I just searched mason jar with straw lids.
I enjoy your You Tube very much. Looks like the MSQC box is a joke and waste of $$. Just sayin'.
Thank you! It’s an adventure at least 😉
