We’re you always a good long distance runner? Because I’m doing cross country for the first time this year and I’m a sprinter who can run a mile at the most😂 but do you think I can do it as long as I work hard at practice or is it something some people are just naturals at?
Not really! When I first started, I just did it for fun to hang with friends and be on a team. I wasn’t even going to be on varsity until I realized I could actually be good if I tried harder. So I kept pushing myself and it paid off. Just keep working hard!!

I'm 12 and on the middle school team and the fastest girl on the team (there are only 7 girls) But my mile times are 6:30ish and my pr is 12:32 and it was at my last race and I beat my ravel and got first! This was very inspiriting to help me keep going. Thank you!

Then I got covid, had to quarantine for 10 days, and then went on vacation and had to restart totally. I was off for 22 days. Now I can hardly run, do you have any tips for me to regain my training quickly before my middle school season starts?
Im 11 and run cross country and im out on injury for about 5 weeks cuz i got a stress fracture in my shin from training/running to much ......90 miles a week also my muscles around my shin are tight but are getting better so currently out of running and swimming and biking
I have the exact same thing with my calves idek what it is but while im running it hurts and when i finish my leg spasms as soon as I finish running 😭😭 I took a break from sprinting and then It stopped when I started cross country

GIRL. JOIN. You don't have to be super fast to run xc, there are so so so many people who do it just for fun or to get exercise. And as you start training and going to practice, you'll get better!
@@alyssaleanne ive been doing varsity cross country since 8th grade and it was the best decision of my LIFE!! even as an eight grader i met so many people and i feel like its such a great sport because you meet people from all different grades!!
Same but I’m a senior in high school. I will be a freshman in college. I want to join track and I know for sure that if I do track, I will very likely have to do cross country at some point so I’m considering cross country too. But I’m not the fastest runner and I get out of breath and quickly.
Im debating joining XC once my school starts back up again, but I've never done it or ran track previously.. I low key probably wont make the team anyways though lol

I have cross country shoes and they are super light! They also don't have metal spikes bc those are for track! I have rubber spikes for cross and metal spikes for track!You don't rly wanna use metal spikes for cross bc u might have to run on cement and u will slip with metal spikes! Hope that helps!

Most people don’t start cross county already in shape, that’s what practice is for!
