Thank you so much for illustrating so clearly and making such a beautiful baby cardigan💓Inspires me to make it and prepare in advance for when I’ll be a grandmom! Look forward to seeing some more from you … happy knitting
Just a tip for anyone when placing stitch markers, make sure you count your 5 button band stitches into the placement…Otherwise, you’ll end thinking you are 10 stitches short like I did lol 😂 I knew I had the right amount of over overall stitches, but I kept coming up 10 short after placing stitch markers, then I realised that I had started off my first stitch count after the 5 border stitches, not before to include them. 😅🫣 So glad I released my mistake. 🤭
So I thought I would share it here so nobody else makes my mistake. 😊
Love knitting your cardigans.Only new to knitting and I can follow your videos. Please keep posting new videos for baby cardigans...xxxxxxthank you

Wonderful!
Hi! I am trying to make this cardigan but I am relatively new to knitting. I've asked this question but the creator hasn't got back to me. Hoping someone else who has made this cardigan can help. When slipping the stitches on the sleeves, are they slipped knitwise or purlwise? I've been told to do slip stitches purlwise unless the pattern says different but she seems to do them differently depending on the side she is knitting. I don't know if that is just the way her knitting technique looks and they are purlwise both times? Thank you very much for any help!
In the video it looks like it’s purl wise.
I love all your knitting pattern videos! They are so easy to understand. I am a beginner and everything I make while following your tutorials looks and feels amazing. Thank you for sharing and greetings from Bulgaria.
You are so welcome! 🥰

Glad it was helpful!
Such a wonderful tutorial so thank you very much! You've taught be how easy it is to complete the sleeves first then join in the yoke rather than holding the sleeve stitches until the end and completing. I'm well on my way making this lovely pattern 🌺

Très joli ❤ je vais pouvoir le faire , c’est traduit en français.
I would love to see a cute knitted diaper cover :)
This is my first cardigan so I decided to start small. And I am not sure what I am doing wrong but I keep coming up with 83 stitches instead of 84 on that first row of the repeat. I have had to rip back 2 times already and I just can't get it. And I could really cry because I wanted to make this for my grand baby. Well, thanks anyway. I guess I need to go on the hunt for another pattern. Hope I get this.
So nice so nice
very very nice i love it🎉
Thank you so much 😀
Beautiful designs sweater
Thank you so much
Beautiful
Thank you 😊
Love you❤❤❤❤
Hi! This is a very cute pattern! Just want to check if this can be knitted with one skein of 100g dk yarn? Or would I need more?
(I do have a little more than one skein left from another project but I'll need to plan for colour changes if it needs two skeins)
Thank you!
Hi dear absolutely gorgeous design. I want to make one for me with chest size 34 inches
Can you please guide me everything i require as iam the beginner.
Hi, love this pattern! I do have one small question though. When seaming up the arms, should the crochet hook be bigger than the needle size. I have knit mine using 4.5mm needles. Does that mean I need to use a 5mm hook to seam?
Yes I would use a slightly bigger hook size that way it’s nice and straight.
Hi Sara, I would like to make this cardigan with circular needles but I wonder which length to buy (it is totally new to me.....). Could you indicate what length to buy and which brand is best in your opinion. Thanks for your help and as always for all your great tutorials.
Hi! I have chiagoo and love them. Another option is Prym or knitters pride. If you know how to do magic loop I’d recommend 48in or 64in long. With this technique the longer the needles the better.
@@knittingforbaby thank you.
May be a daft question, but are you slipping the stitches purlwise or knitwise on the sleeves?
I'm just finding your way of knitting a little confusing to orient myself. I'm quite new to knitting and I've been told to slip stitches purlwise unless specified otherwise, but you seem to be slipping them differently depending on what side you are knitting. Would really appreciate some more guidance! Thank you.
Twinkley1981 thanks for explaining i did make that mistake😊
Are you doing the knit stitch through the back loop or going through the front
I’m a combination continental knitter. You can knit and purl however way you know how and the end result will be the same. Thanks for watching 😀
Can you knit the sleeves using the magic loop method?
Yes you can.
Felicidades!
Hi! At the beginning of the cardingan and you do the repeat rows, do you knit through the back loop? It looks like when you knit the border you knit through the front and the rest through the back am i correct? Planning on knitting this cardigan but i am beginner so dont want to make any mistakes 🥰
She’s a combination knitter so when she does her purls she wraps in the opposite direction, so on the next row her stitches leading leg of the stitch is mounted to the back of the needle, instead of front of the needle, so when she knits the back loop it puts the stitch into the correct direction.
There’s a few different knitting styles.
If you just knit and purl as you normally do you will achieve the same cardigan.
I am a combination continental knitter. Just knit and purl however way you know and the end result will be the same.
Any chance you have other similar type patterns on tutorial would be very interested in trying to do them x
Only the ones here in this channel. I have lots that are crochet on my other channel. Here’s the link ua-cam.com/play/PLiGQpEa3IKJ9ZZmfc6uS3xW0RTgPCCz7r.html&si=eIuSeL_YELOwSpXt
@@knittingforbaby I made this one and its wonderful. Just love your work,it's wonderful❤
Hi Dear, your tutorial is totally great for newbie knitter like me :) but let me asking something, so If I want to make cardigan for 3years I need to use 10ply yarn? Is that okay if I combine 2 yarn (5ply and 5ply) since your video is also using 2 yarn ?
Yes that should be ok. Good luck 👍
@@knittingforbaby great! Thans for your reply, help me a lot! Wish you all the best!🫶🏻
Can I use 4 ply yarn and Needle 9 for a baby 12-24 months .
How much yarn do you think I would need .
I want to knit 6years old baby coat from top to bottom how much stiches for neck
Is the gauge for this pattern based on stockinette st or the bodice stitch?
The stockinette stitch
👍
Hi! For the sleeve I did 26 + 18 rows + 6 rows for the cuff, but it doesn’t even closely measure 17,5 cms. Is it possible you counted half the rows? I’m so confused 🥲
Yes stitch count is correct perhaps is your tension. Go up a full needle size if you feel that’s the case
Just bought the pattern, I’m wanting to make it in 12-24 months but it doesn’t say how many stitches to cast on for bigger ages ?
It's the same. Just use different size needles and yarn. So for the 12-24 months you need to use DK yarn and size 7 needles.
Do you have printed patterns.❤ love your video
Yes. Here’s the link to my Etsy shop. Just click the cardigan folder to find this one crochetforbabystore.etsy.com
👍👍👍👍👍👌
Plz guide, for one to 2 year old, how much stitches we should take at start?? N also for 5 year old??
❤❤❤❤😊😊😊😊😊
How many stitches for 7 years old girl ? Design , stitches and markers for the round yoke will be the same for all the sizes ?
I’m so sorry but I don’t know how many for that size.
Do you have a hat for this sweater I think if I do your neck count of stitches, that should be wide enough for a hat
Wondeful pattern, but don't you think using smaller needles and same DK will make knitted NB size too stiff and on the contrary using larger needles for Z years old will make it too strechy. And Aran yarn is quite heavy. Why not just change the number of CO stiches ? That is not that difficult. Thanks for maki g that change whenever you have time.
Perhaps you’re right but I’m not a pattern designer expert and don’t know how to do that.
😅 I’ve done this cardigan with the different yarn weights and needle size and they are not stiff nor stretchy because the recommended needle size is still within the recommended range for the yarn weight.
I signed up for a free month trail I changed my mind how do I canceled subscription ($ 18.99) and get my money back?
I don’t have subscription. Perhaps it’s another channel
The written pattern for the sleeve has 25 rows (rows 2 & 3, then 4-26 which is 23 rows) but you mention 26 rows. Also row 26 is a purl row, but the next 18 rows repeat rows 2 & 3 which would also start with a purl row. I’m guessing the pattern should read rows 4-27 (24) after rows 2 & 3 ending on a knit row.
Maybe I’m missing something ?
Let me double check. Contact me via Etsy please 😊
The sleeves are correct. I’ve revised this section to make it clearer. See below and contact me via Etsy if you would like a revised version.
Row 1: K36
Row 2: Sl, P35, and turn. (36)
Row 3: Sl, K35, and turn. (36)
Row 4: Sl, P35, and turn. (36)
Rows 5-26: Rep rows 3 and 4.
Optional: Switch to 2.75mm needles if you want narrower sleeves.
Rows 27-44: Rep rows 3 and 4.
Thank you !
Hello Ma'am
M so confused how to go from 60 to 84....where have you incresed the stiches.
the yarn over is an increase. P2, yo. First row in the repeat. =) Hope that helps!
Is this pattern on the Etsy site yet?
No not yet. I’ll have it sometime next week. I’ll let you know 😉
Hi! I just added the pattern to my Etsy shop. Here’s the link www.etsy.com/listing/1447325609/digital-pdf-knit-pattern-easy-knit-baby?ref=listings_manager_grid
Hi, I'm the only one who noticed that it makes you cast 60 stitches and all the time it says... now we have 86 stitches... now we have 86 stitches...
please HELP
YES, that was what was so very confusing to me, also! And it would have been good to be provided with a gauge, like "6 stitches to an inch," "7 rows to an inch," to give us some idea if our work was sizing acceptably.
You increase on the first row of the repeat. P2, Yarn over (increase)
Pattern is not free, can u guide how much stitches to cast on for 2 year old baby, n 5 year old baby, plzzzz reply
She has a list under the video description for sizing. This pattern is not designed for a 5 year old, it's a baby cardigan so there is no way to resize without creating an entirely new pattern.
Can you let us know when pattern is on Etsy please
Yes. Working on it right now. Will let you know.
Hi! I just added the pattern to my Etsy shop. Here’s the link www.etsy.com/listing/1447325609/digital-pdf-knit-pattern-easy-knit-baby?ref=listings_manager_grid
Ok so I’m knitting along with you step by step. You give instructions after the 6th row of the second repeat to knit 4 rows of garter. I do that only to press play and you tell me that after two rows of garter you added a button hole???? 😞It would have been helpful to have been given that piece of information before I knit the 4 rows of garter. Now I have to knit back two rows! SMH. It’s things like this that make a pattern harder than it has to be. This is extremely frustrating.😖 With instructions like this I am afraid to buy a pattern from you. But thanks for trying… I guess. 🙁
With all respect, why would you even go and start a pattern blindly without watching it first and taking notes?? This is a free pattern 😅 you have to do some work too.
Taking into consideration what you are saying, I changed my method and watched, took notes and this still didn’t come out right. But thanks for your input.
How to do k1 increase to last 5 sts
Plz reply
In urdu plz
