Why Performing On The World’s Largest Lake Stage Is So Difficult

- This summer, the largest lake stage in the world will host one of the most famous Italian operas: a production of Giacomo Puccini's "Madame Butterfly" with a very special stage design. Canadian stage designer Michael Levine has designed a gigantic painted sheet of paper with a warped surface that rises, almost weightless, above Lake Constance - a challenge especially for those who are to play and sing on it.
We accompanied one of the singers to find out how they get on.

@jayjay001 I saw the opera in August 2022. 200% Breathtaking!
Is there a video of A Masked Ball by Giuseppe Verdi? I've seen pictures of the stage. Looks super cool. Wanna watch it in video
I live only 400 meters from the stage in bregenz,Austria
My goal for my theatre career!
Amazing 🤩
interesting!
It’s very important
If I'd known this was showing this year I'd have gone. I've been to the Bregenzer Festspiele before and loved it all. They were saying there was a Russian Opera this year (hell knows why, given the situation we're in globally) and decided not to go.
I am severely dissapointed in this stage choice. Compared to previous stages this is so anticlimactic. Hope next one is better .
