When we used the term it was loosely used to refer to the hours between mid night and four in the morning. For various reasons there are a lot of people in the military who have to be out and about at "zero dark thirty ..." when they would really rather be back in bed ... For me, the phrase mostly brings back memories of being cold and tired. .
Excellent report. Maya's character as a targeter is based on a real person & a composite of other women's qualities. "The woman has greater moral courage than the man; she has also special gifts which enable her to govern in moments of danger and crisis. If necessary she can become a warrior.” - Abdu’l-Baha in London
^^ This is what i'm talking about. I see a few of our boys out and about around town and always approach them to say thank you for serving. Know what they ALL say to me? "Thank you for your support". These guys....i love em
geertwilders911 It's filmed in India It's a fake propaganda movie Where is Osama bin laden dead body Not even showed his face It's all hoax He's living in luxury getting hundreds of thousands of dollars per day for his role for opening the gates of Afghanistan for American military bases
From what I read (a lot of articles citing specifics..) there’s very little in this presentation that reflect the true events around what was a true accomplishment regardless of the inaccuracies. It failed to relay the whole story according to many critics- too many and too respected to ignore- this was very entertaining fiction. ?? Just like Hollywood promises...
@Max Gill no harm in pointing out the fictional aspects to the film .... is there ? It doesn’t claim documentary status. It reports what is mean to please and entertain.
It's not a coincidence. They are based on the same person. Her name is Bikowski. And like Carry she also shared a special bond with her mentor. Whom she married. And both these bozos were directly responsible for 9 11. Watch the looming tower.
Her kid will be like mommy what's ur job I'm a CIA targeter and a few years later theyll put 2 and2 together and bam you suddenly have the coolest mom on earth
Not true, they knew it was him and most of the members of DEVGRU knew it was him way before the raid. Read the book "No Easy Day" written by one of the SEALs that was actually on the raid.
jeez... bitter much! it was awsome! i loved it! i was gripping my seat the entire time! i think this movie should be shown in schools, just to prove A, we never stop until we eliminate the target. B, girls are just as important as boys in the military!
it's difficult to reconcile the fact that mark owen, both in his book and in the 60 minutes interview, goes to great lengths to give credit to other people over 10 years yet specifically singling out "Jen" as deserving the most credit, a woman who sounds petty and selfish and blasted a bridge burning company wide email saying that only she deserves credit. these are two ideas completely antithetical to one another.
Gentle Breadcat, Esquire that is a pretty stupid comment. "jen" never got the credit because we will never know who she is. and "jen" isn't saying others don't deserve credit, she is complaining that people are taking credit for doing no work. and before you bitch about her, her years of work helped bring down UBL, you have most likely done jack shit to serve your country. she deserves our respect, your comment makes you a faceless troll that rests on her service to my country.
I included all of that info in the 3 forms I sent the Justice Department. Including Jan my accountant at O.U while I was the Student Health Plan Manager. She reported missing money to the O.U. board of regents years ago before 911. I explained that David Boren and his CIA and Skull friends would try to frame people when they would report their crimes. I reported the middle eastern man who attacked me in my office back then. He said he was with the Saudis and that he didnt have to pay for the student insurance to get his student visa. I said he did. David Borens office had a special arrangement with the Saudi Gov. This a couple of years before 911. David Boren was having breakfast with George Tenet the CIA director the morning of 911. Those people also kidnapped my son in retaliation. The CIA is a bunch of Evil people. I know the real Maya got a 1 million dollar bonus a reward for her work. All I've ever gotten is assasination attempts on my life and my child kidnapped and constant harrassement. I'm not going to pretend the U.S. Gov. are the good guys. They never helped me.
It was a good movie. Very entertaining. Unfortunately none of it is true. It may be very accurate to what the agency told them happened, but it’s not the truth.
Still working for the CIA most likely and that’s why she will not give up her identity. She may do so when she retires from the CIA and make some money from interviews, books etc.
In deciding whether i wanted to watch this ... actually first to find out if it’s more fact than fiction ... whoa did I come across bitter criticism of this film’s premise ... that the use of torture was instrumental in the capture of bin Ladin, a premise that has been categorically rejected - dismissed - vehemently denied by those not for their support or repulsion of the practice of torture but for their journalistic oath to report honestly with integrity only the facts regardless of their lack of appeal, whether the true less sensational story fails to please viewers who hold to what they call an erroneous notion that we America was justified in the violence we used on Muslim detainees because the info gained was vital in lives saved. Not according to their study and numerous trusted sources-way too many to ignore call this film entertaining fiction. The term propaganda was used by many and given the facts cited, it’s difficult to call it anything else. But it sure sounds thrilling and the heroics of the lead female agent are impressive.. especially when it fails to take into account the enormity of her role in torture. They report the totality of her story is plain missing in this presentation. According to reporters as well as too many trusted longtime statesmen to simply dismiss claim its inaccuracies are far more damaging than its entertainment value justifies. Hey I’m just reading this stuff and it’s overwhelming in volume. It’s their opinion not mine. So we must at least acknowledge the criticism is out there and backed by research and specific details all of which is pretty hard to refute. In fact some implications are irrefutable even by proponents of torture as an effective means of gaining information. We’re brave enough to stand behind our actions with the courage of our convictions that in hindsight might prove to be an unnecessary amount of force in obtaining what we can agree on saves lives. I don’t believe these critics question the objective that unites us. They question the efficacy in the practice for which we are accountable All of us share a resounding goal. And we can question methods without calling into question either one’s commitment to reaching it. In hindsight we might reconsider what we do going forward to get what we need to keep us safe. (Assuming of course these negative reviews based on verifiable fact.)
I heard about the heli going down and I thought "Holy Cow! Gun Ho Americans again lol" or words to that effect. But Yes you are quite correct, It was supposed to sound as if the SAS were better which of course is Not the case. No Disrespect was meant to either you guy's, the US or the Seal Teams, my remarks were jocular. I wouldn't like to make an enemy of either force and meet then in a back ally, lets put it that way lol...
Hmm, not sure you have met many US Soldiers. I've met a few SEALs and know a Drill Master. The most intimidating men one can meet. Even when they wear golf clothes.
Just don't believe any of this. The movie was overblown and full of more holes than in any Star Trek TOS plots. The whole thing is just not convincing.
Lol why would the US let the British take out Osama? Do u know what the political repercussion would have been if that really happened? Did u even see the movie? They said the radar deflecting shape of the helicopter makes it unstable in flight than a normal Blackhawk. You also make it sound like the SAS could have done a better job. What do u base this theory on? SAS isn't better than the SEALs and vice versa. How would u know whose better unless you've been in both organizations?
She did her Job, Some Jobs are Tougher than others its as simple as that, but maybe they should have past the intel to the British S.A.S so they could have executed the mission properly? The US would have saved its self a Black Hawk and they would have had the Job done without waking the whole Dam Country up before even getting into position. It could have turned into a hell of a cluster fuck but the Seals got the Job done eventually, that's all that counts really..
Actually I met the real Maya the spy who found Osama bin Laden and guess what Osama bin Laden is alive. I use to work for U.S.A Army . I'm retired from the U.S.A Army. I was also in Afghanistan Kabul and Pakistan Karachi. I speak Pashto Afghani Farsi and Urdu. I kind of helped her but I was not part of the mission. She was very beautiful at the time and very tough and she would always wear the nicest clothes and shoes and yes she would always wear beautiful heels. I loved her personality. Yes it's true she is very dangerous but looks very common innocent. She was on the hunt for Osama Bin Laden for than 20 some years. Very Very Smart looks like she has no clue but she is a genius and very good with math right on target with numbers. Plus she does not have red hair and she does not have blue eyes and she has light skin but not too white. Never used to care a gun or any sort of weapon. I only knew her no one did. CIA didn't pay her a money not even any awards instead they made her life a hell. Cause they are chickens them selfs and they don't even want to come near her caus they are afraid of her. All she said to me all I want so for them to pay me for my work and my awards and I want the world to know it was me . She said I want to go on the news and tell the world it was all my work. I am very proud of you Maya. Guess what she is white American who became a true Muslim and knows how to pray. She is 25% jewish and 25% Catholic and 25% Hindu and 12.5% Christian and 12.5% Buddhist. Thanks to me she became a real American Muslim.
WITHOUT DOUBT, Nada Bakos is the "Maya" character in the movie Zero Dark Thirty. i am 100% CERTAIN

From what I read (a lot of articles citing specifics..) there’s very little in this presentation that reflect the true events around what was a true accomplishment regardless of the inaccuracies. Great movie. Great work by all involved in the 10yr manhunt. OUTSTANDING work by DEVGRU to finish it up

She's so Carrie Mathison!

Well said. Equipment changes. The shooter is what gets it done
Not true, they knew it was him and most of the members of DEVGRU knew it was him way before the raid. Read the book "No Easy Day" written by one of the SEALs that was actually on the raid.
...and to Think? We teach children to behave differently in the presence of "Grown ups." 🇺🇸🎩
You just called Seals Soldiers, great job.
9 years later and not a single like… says something
jeez... bitter much! it was awsome! i loved it! i was gripping my seat the entire time! i think this movie should be shown in schools, just to prove A, we never stop until we eliminate the target. B, girls are just as important as boys in the military!
You don't use "The Torture Queen" as a role model for feminism.
The same way you don't use Harvey Weinstein as a role model for great producer.
Well put.

Maya is the hero
they didnt kno there were goin after bin laden till the dayy they did the raid
umm, when did "she" gripe once about getting credit?

It's not true at all
Movie is only 10% true
Rest only a few know
Do you guys really think what's shown in the movie is correct
Was just doing my job.
That’s cool and all but “real Maya” never existed. Her character is a blend of many real life persons who brought the clues together.
Without the intel the soldiers wouldn't be able to do their job.
I heard about the heli going down and I thought "Holy Cow! Gun Ho Americans again lol" or words to that effect.

Ian Anderson Another idiot who believes in conspiracies
Slow your roll buddy- leave Star Trek out of this.

Then where the fuck is neo?
the masses more easily accept a big lie

She likes her job being part of the CIA dream job .
I know who she is, Although I didn’t watch this stupid movie
CNN lady's cheekbones are distracting.
Not worth Oscars.
brainwashed yet?
