Yes. Idle draw is one thing, but inverter is also wasting way too much power to charge & float the battery. All this ads up over many months.
प्रयोग अच्छा लगा सर आप का इन्वर्टर बैटरी टॉपअप कर रखने में 30 वाट ले रहा है, जो ज्यादा है, मेरा इन्वर्टर तो 18 वाट लेता है 100ah बैटरी पर। वैसे मैं ग्रीड चार्जिंग ऑफ रखने वाला इन्वर्टर अभी अभी लिया हूँ। जब बैटरी 13.5 वोल्ट आ जायेगी तो ग्रीड चार्जगिंग ऑफ कर दूंगा ताकि लोड ग्रीड से चले मगर बैटरी चार्ज मत करे जब बैटरी कुछ कंज्यूम हो जाएगी तब चार्जगिंग on कर दूंगा। अब ये देखना है कि ग्रीड चार्जिंग off औऱ no load पर इन्वर्टर कितना watt कंज्यूम करता है।

Sir mere pass purana transistors wala invertor hai... battery full charge honne par cutt of ke baad koi current nhi deta battery ko (no floating current). I always thought ke new digital invertors also do same. One disadvantage of no floating current is if there is a power cut only for 30 seconds after 5 days once full charged, invertor will going to take 2-3hrs to charge again since some current is lost during those 5 days idle. Another disadvantage, if no power cut for many days, battery will not be at its 100%. But major advantage is power saving will be huge. My invertor consumes only 5W once battery is full and output disconnected. Those 5W is due to in these invertor relay is energized and a small circuit.
I think new invertor should provide option to disable or enable this option. Due to this floating current, it is consuming lot of power. I was thinking of upgrading to digital invertor, but this may have convinced me to keep old one. :)
Float is very important to maintain the health of lead acid battery, otherwise gravity will fall. What you are saying is possible in Lithium (LFP) batteries as they can hold the charge for weeks & months without requiring any float current.
However sadly, not many lithium compatible inverters available in Indian market.
@@ZenInnovations Yes maybe incase where there are very less power cuts and battery kept idle for many days. Here as you know there are power outage after every 2-3 days, maybe in those cases it works. Using this invertor for more than 10yrs, this is the second battery.
Yes lithium battery pack would be awesome once it becomes mainstream in India.
Hello sir, i don't what's happening, my inverter constantly taking more than 250 watts even after charging battery to the full. I thought my battery is old that's why. But i replaced my battery to the new but even after that it is taking more than 250 watt after full charging. My inverter model is luminous zelio 1100 single battery. Inverter was also checked by the mechanic. Can you help out advice

Depends on the inverter. It's not easy on some.
Sir mere pass 600 eb ka microtec ka inverter hai uske sath 165 ah ki battery hai jo 3 saal purani hai ab problum ye hai ki inverter 12 14 ghante baad charging cut karta hai lekin agar light 5 minut ke liye bhi chali jaye to dubara 5 6 ghante charge karta rehta hai inverter ko check kiya to 10.5 volt pe low cut ho jaati hai

Square wave it not effective when it comes to motor load. For resistive load it does not matter.

Can I disconnect my sine wave inverter when nkt in use (after full charge) by using bypass switch or manual disconnecting ? As the sine wave inverter is continuously taking some power as it feels hot when touched, it means it is taking some power continuously, so to reduce this power consumption can we disconnect it , will bypass switch will help ?

It's consuming 20-25W to maintain , I face power cuts once in a while like 30-60min in 3-4 days gap, will it be necessary to maintain battery ?
