I recently bought one of these engines to strap to a go kart. I don’t have very much knowledge of motorcycle engines I just had the idea and found an engine for a deal too good to pass up. The engine has all the parts and the carbs. If it’s not too much of a hassle I was wondering if you know what I would need electrical wise to get the engine running.
Is your engine out of an F4i? if it is then it would be fuel injection. you would need a wiring harness and an ECU for an F4i minimum to run it. if it is not from an F4i, do you know what it did come out of?
@@zakerysumser4970 The F4i also has several safety circuits on it that you would need to likely bypass. The bank-angle-sensor is one, as is the kickstand sensor. They are both easily bypassed by shorting across them. A note about the ignition also. These bikes have a Zener Diode attached to the ignition that sends 9V to the ECU. this is a theft prevention thing. If you use non-OEM ignition (key part) you will need to figure out how to provide 9V to the ECU on that wire
Hey! I've seen your videos before, and they seem super helpful to someone who owns an F4i (me!). I too have an F4i and was wondering if you could help me go about an issue I'm having. The previous owner lowsided the bike on the left side, the stator cover is busted, and it broke off one of the threaded "ears" that the bolt would go through(only on the bottom half of the crank case). It leaks bad from the stator cover, and I was wondering if it's possible to split the bottom half of the crankcase without having to tear apart the top end, as I don't want to fully rebuild the engine. I have an additional block, and was thinking that I could either get the ear aluminum welded and tapped, or replace the bottom crank case. What are your thoughts on how I should go about this?
Hi interesting videos I know this is best part of a year old I wondering where the coil packs are located my bike has no spark so I'm going through the process of trying to figure out why my bike is same model but is a 2001 cbr600fs I'm hoping it's not my ecu 😂as honda want £2500 for an new one

The coils are directly on the spark plugs on this bike
Is f4i got a nikasil-coated or steel cylinders?
almost all aluminum inline 4 engines have nikasil coated cylinders
@@jeffhumes thanks, sir.
