This band will show you that you need a quality sound system to fully enjoy the sonic spectrum they employ
Best metal album of the 2000s. That’s right I said it.
Me: This band is great!
SYL: Hell yeah, we fuckin' suck!
this is the most technical strapping young lad album. gene hoglan is insane on this.
True but i think the most outstanding performance overall (drum playing n song composing ) is Dark Angel-Time does not heal .Great efford and a punch to everyone who believe at the time could play technical thrash metal
@@xtremeunderratedmusic Even moreso than his time with Death? I may have to revisit Dark Angel, now that you mention it! Little biased as I still feel Individual Thought Patterns is one of the greatest albums ever made...
forgot how great of a band these guys are.
Glad that youtube reminded you...

Yeah while this isn't as heavy as the other albums, it definitely serves as a good swan song to SYL. Sucks Devy is done with it now, but we can always look back on these albums and love them. Plus his stuff is still good outside of SYL so I don't mind.
Лучший из всех альбомов!!!
The melvins cover is tight
We agree...SYL is Great band
Big fan of SYL here, yet still praising Heavy as A Really Heavy Thing as their best album ever... AND craziest "alternative metal" of all time.
"City" deserves a medal as well. The rest is let's say... discussable.
Thanks! Don't think I've heard long pig but I know that's how cannibals refer to humans to be consumed.
Was that the Dolby atmos or the weed? This band is obnoxiously awesome.
Classic
Oh yes!!!!!
All I have to say is Awesome!!
Townsend rules....
Hearing the song The New Black without hearing Polyphony first is just as bas bad as hearing Wish without hearing Pinion first and yet people do it
Love this band, Devon needs to start it up again him and Gene
I love them too but devin had said that the circle of strapping young lad is over...
@@xtremeunderratedmusic I know when he stopped smoking weed in a bunch of stuff he really changed his life and I just missed his band though
Band almost killed him bro. Can't deny the music tho.
@@bdubs3819 I know but we can all wish
@@dvourmusik he does still play SYL actually... if you read up on him he does a few songs he and there.. But yeah for the most part its dead.. IF enough people keep wanting to hear them and he can do it "safely" maybe we will hear him live again!!! Be rad. I think he is capable as is Gene & crew!

Fuckin proud to be canadian when i listen to these guys so iconic n it just fuckin shreds

@@xtremeunderratedmusic fuck yea true shit...all legendery!
Frank Zappa meets metal. Lol
You suck and shit storm where the first to song that introduced these lads to me. During my early middle school years. Strapping young lads I must say
Is this version different than on tidal? It even sounds better!! Thanx ALOT
what is tidal? I uploaded cause i have it on cd format ...everything i upload is from my cd collection.
@@xtremeunderratedmusic is spotify on steroids
Who are the 5 that down voted. I want names and addresses
right? These kids have no idea and could never make, play, or cover anything like this.
Ones name is Robert lane. A few comments above. He's a down thumber
Bathroom then snug
Why didnt syl get more love?
SYL get a lot of love...Devin freaked out and split up the band.
@D B From what i've read so far, i think he and one other wanted to go a different route with their music while the others didnt. So they split. (Which is why Devin has that Townsend Project band now)
The worst decision they could get , they make one hell of a sound!!
Cos LOOOOOOVE IS ABOOOOOUT COOOONT-ROOOOOOLLLLLLLLLLLLL
@@sirkyrxon936 They fell apart a couple years ago too. He's a solo artist now, with everyone else on Empath being a guest musician of some sort
