What later happened to Goerke’s voice I wish to forget.
(You already hear the vibrato issues)

Christine Goerke's best couple of years were right around that time. She's an exciting Elektra here!

I think t's some of the best singing I have ever of her role, the monologue is perfectly done to my ears, the singing is so confident and secure and in tune. her fast vibrato gives a kind of urgent colour to her singing. she's also very rhythmically alive eg. "wenn alles ist vollbracht" and the high B joins the orchestra like it does with Nilsson (needs to be perfectly "on the note") to play its harmonic role vis a vis the orchestra. it's Strauss at his best when it's so wonderfully sung as here. the high C and the ending phrases are just so well done. also great playing and conducting: Bychkov is very good in this kind of music, very colourful and sharply played.

I was going to say, yes, Bychkov is doing a great job below Goerke.
I saw them (Bychkov and Goerke) in Elektra in Paris in 2022, it was fine but definitely not as exciting. Obviously 10 years make a big difference for a singer so her voice has declined a little.
