    Great warranty with high price just means you bought the tool two and a half times over.

    👍🏼to your vid.
    I don’t even almost consider the arc at its price. I don’t need magnacut in my multitool. I don’t need magnacut in my anything actually.
    Roxons stuff seems pretty ok & good price.
    The goat is probably not for everyone currently. You have to be a “special” kind of person. 😁
    The goat has been thee perfect tool for me. It’s personalized to me inside AND outside.
    AND nobody beats the GOAT WARRANTY.
    As long as the company keeps going. :)

    I like my arc and don’t find it having hotspots. Bit spendy for what it is I agree. I think it’s more of a medium duty tool and like the toolset. What they need to do is offer all the tools that fit for sale separately so we can choose our own toolset on them. Or set up a build sheet on their website so you can order it with only the tools you want.

    Does it cut coat hanger Better than the arc I would think so no offence but American made items cost 5 times more with 5 times less usefulness that is sad when china are pioneering the market in every measurement the proof is in the pudding just look at the items they make for America a lot of times

    I believe they both are made for différent markets.
    I mean the ARC is a premium multitool with a generalist tool set.
    While the roxon can be an actual specialist tool.
    My biggest gripe against the ARC is the price mostly in my country.
    The Roxon actually can not only be the start of an entire line of tools but also be one of the best either primary or secondary multitool.
    For example have a dual force and the flex, The crunch and the flex, or have your knipex.
    As far as the flex goes they can make knives, multitools with other options like configuration and different plier heads. The best part of this is enabling the External tools to be like roxon fantasy

      Yep too true! I have Leatherman and Victorinox, they're hard to beat. The Roxon is good in theory, but I don't like that the tools splayed out unless he locked them! And the fact that the tools are so easily swapped out makes me wonder how solid they would be in use. Like I say great in theory, but...

  • @Island.Badger

    For the price and being it’s 2024, the Arc ought to have two tshank adaptors for the saw and file. Other tool swaps might work too, micro bit is lame. Hail king Surge.

  • @imanassole9421
    @imanassole9421 3 місяці тому +2

    (Incoherent rant😅) Leatherman is gonna be one of those companies that because they built a name back in the day, they just stay so ignorant of the competition, that they'll be bankrupt before they know it, if they don't start paying attention. Look at Victorianox. They are still being Innovative and competitive with price for what you actually get. I got my SAK Huntsman for like 30 bucks on sale. It's like 50 normally straight from them. I would have been happy with 50 tbh. Still a top quality tool that I would trust my life to.. and when you get it, you feel it, you see it. I've purchased 3 knives from them.. every one is still absolutely perfect. Face shaving sharp out of the box and durable as all. I own a LM Surge.. I just really wanted one for work, so I bought it for my bday. Got it for like 150? With no accessories besides the sheath and file. Some would argue those are not accessories, those are standard for a 1lb tool that has a t shank adpt. Zero changes and innovation since release, except the replaceable plier teeth I believe? Their over all tool implements are pm the same as they have been for a long time. That's just not gonna cut it boys. The over all quality is serviceable.. nothing to write home about honestly. Durable? Yes, but was everything razor sharp and perfect? Not at all. I shouldn't have to "setup" a 150 dollar tool. IE sharpen and tighten or loosen and locktight things. But that bit extra that I got from my 1/3 price SAK is super noticeable in comparison. I was kinda pissed honestly. The Arc.. their "end all" tool. Reviews are pretty mid everywhere. Ergo, durability, qc, tool set.. it's all meh from every review I've seen. I ain't giving LM another dollar after my experience. 90 percent tools are becoming the way to go as far as LM type tools go IMO. If the tools and quality get you 90 percent of the way to a LM. Arguably 95 these days.. for 1/3 the price? Not to mention the durability, over all quality, refining, and consistency have improved drastically with many of these companies these past 5 or so years and is only getting better. Where LM is just staying comfortably where they are.. which isn't as unreachable as they think. In some cases surpassing LM! Looking at you scissors🤨. That's good enough for me. Yes, the purists who haven't owned, will never own one, or touched one once will say "It's cheap garbage" and this and that.. that's just ignorance and guessing mostly. More and more.. those people are just defending their purchase. They're mad that they paid 3x the price for something that does the same thing. And I get it, I got suckered too. You really gotta ask, how much of my 150 dollar purchase was just the LM name.. oh and that "limited" 25 year warranty. "You want the best, you gotta pay for it." Hey, I'm not saying you can't enjoy your solid gold toilet my guy.. but I have both.. and I'm kinda mad I wasted money on the gold one when the white one does the same work every day. If anything I'm more scared to EDC my LM because it was so expensive. 150 for the tool, 30 for the bit kit (which is hard to find), 10 for the extention? If I lose that, it gets broken after lending it to someone at work, or it gets stolen. That sucks! But a 50 dollar tool? Less so. Idk my point is that I see less and less value in LM as time goes by.

    Maybe. Pretty pathetic that our regulatory system is so hostile to business that American firms can't or won't manufacture here. 350 million ppl here and we can barely make our own tools.

      And then most people blame the companies. And then the politicians try to punish businesses for outsourcing when it wouldn’t be necessary in the first place in a more free market.

    • @LarryReynolds591
      @LarryReynolds591 4 місяці тому +1

      @@JC_1095 I have no problem with tariffs and other policies pushing companies to manufacture here. The fact that the very first thing they do is outsource rather than even try to manufacture here, as Roxon has done, tells you that it's not just policy. Sometimes the companies just don't care about anything other than their own cash.

      it’s not a regulatory issue if other companies make the same product. no government agency is saying multi tools cannot be made in USA. it’s basic economics: minimize input costs to maximize profit. the materials and the labor are much less expensive overseas than in USA. the arc is not for everyone, it’s meant for more financially capable users. I am not mocking people, but arc is more of a status tool than a workman’s tool. Leatherman is looking to make money, a profit - not looking to save you money. the knockoffs look to save you money.

    Mr. Kincaid, what grade of steel is the Roxon Flex composed of? The Leatherman Arc is 420HC with a Magnacut knife blade. The GOAT is 420 with I believe a 440-stock knife blade. Some people may not like a softer metal if Roxon sticks to a 3Cr or 5cr. If I like the tool itself, I'm really not concerned with the grade steel. I think the Leatherman Arc has a great tool set and if you want a superior Magnacut blade and don't want to carry a dedicated knife, that's the way to go. I myself am more than happy with the stock multitool knife blade. I really like the GOAT multitool at $119. You have a great option between that or the Leatherman Wave+ at the same price point.

      If you're concerned about doing "dirty work" with your muti tool, then you're not buying a tool, you're buying pocket jewelry. If you have enough expendable income to overpay for something you're not going to use, good, I'm happy for you. But some of us need a tool that will get used, get dirty, get broken and serviced, and get us through situations without making a purchase the size of a car payment. Maybe they are both good, different markets for different needs.
