      Absolutely and can confirm, shooting a bow left handed is very easy to learn as a right-handed person. Much easier IMO than learning to shoot a rifle left handed.

    Great info brother! Thank you. I am looking for a package compound bow which will be my 1st, this video gave me a lot of info to consider. I shoot crossbows but want to explore compound bow before I get too old to be able to pull those strings 😄

    I'm glad I watched this video, I now know what to look for and I get the big box store, I got my crossbow from big box and had to a lot of my homework online on how to load it and set it up for me, I have been dealing with a bow shop local to me and I will be picking up my bow after the new year. thanks for all the information. What would recommend for a quick release, any 1 that preforms better than others?

      I like the thunb button releases, but it's always good to start with a wrist release. Depends on how much you're looking to spend. Tru Fire and Scott are great.

    Great video, helped me a lot! I was wondering if the Diamond Infinite Edge Pro is still a good choice as it seems to be discontinued. Looks like Diamond Edge 320 is the new one. And I'm also considering the Mission Switch. Is it a good alternative to the Diamond? Thanks and Best Regards!

    Amazing video lots of useful beginner info. I just can’t afford any of those super expensive bows. If I found a youth bow that would fit me as an adult would that be okay for starting out in archery or no?

    Any recommendations for right eye dominate and left handed person?

      You may find yourself being more comfortable shooting right. The best thing would be to go into a bow shop and try shooting both sides to see what feels more comfortable.

    If you buy a descent package bow you can upgrade the accessories over time

      Absolutely you can. An upgraded sight and stabilizer will make a huge difference. If you are looking to upgrade a sight, look for one that has micro adjustments. It'll be easier to sight in and save you time in the long run. Good luck! 👍

    Is there anything I need to think about before I choose my bow When I do the triangle test My eyes go to the same distance each side So I don't know if I need left or right i'm a right handed person 😮

    im both.. left and righty... but i shoot guns .. lefty and im left eyed ... im interested in the exact bow you showed - purple- pink string.. Diamond prism... 2- reasons... im 5.7inch... 27 3/4 to 28 draw.. i heard if didnt fit the draw.. i could cheet it longer a bit with D loop.. ? i also hear: youth bows made well like diamond.. is just as professional... as any mid range bow... just made for smaller.. or older person like me.. 50lbs my max pull!!! consistant pull i like 35 lbs.. if shtf ... humain purposes.. i set it too 45 lbs and correct arrow for deer! 100 videos later and if i was right handed : $199 dragon x8 pro. is beasty! all accessories is junk.. replace as can .. bare bow is awesome!!!!!!!! Dont sale lefty:>( ...found a used diamond prism. $100 .. i scared it may be damaged,, idk. Gurl got it. and she all way out bolts and too hard for her.. she not going shoot it! keep fingers crossed.. ooh pray 4 me- brother went spear fish and thought i was nice fat 1.. i will shoot fish from land now!

      I'm right handed, but left eye dominant, so I shoot left as well. Nothing wrong with shooting youth or beginner bows. Shoot whatever you are comfortable with.

      Absolutely. Check the Hunting regulations in your area. As long as you're shooting a certain draw weight and arrow size, you'll be fine.

    Can the 400$ bows be used in competitions?

      I don't see why not. Check the rules of the competition you're going to enter, but I've never heard of them saying what price category of bow you have to shoot. It's more by categories like Bowhunter class, Pro, Semi Pro, related to skill level.

    I just want someone to tell me exactly what to but. I want to hunt and shoot target. Im 6'1" and not weak. have shot a lot when young but have no idea about todays bows. Someone please just tell me what I need to get started again. What is the best package to start with?

      The best package is the one that feels right for you. No one can tell you that. Depends on our budget and how the bow feels in your hands. Head over to a pro shop and start shooting some.

      They usually have to be ordered from the company, as most stores won't carry too many left handed bows since 90% of shooters are right handed.

      If you're trying to find your dominant eye, hold your hands out in front of you in a Triangle on an object. Close one eye and open it and close the other. Whichever eye keeps the object in the middle is your dominant eye.

    I’m wondering why measuring the arms span when you can easily divide your height with 2,5 and your done.
    Arm’s span almost always equals height, try it out…get to a wall and touch floor with fingers of one hand then expand your other hand along the wall straight up as high possible while still touching the floor with the other hand, maybe someone can watch your shoulders to be in line with your arms, mark your upper fingers and stand up to the mark, you’ll se that you’ll fit right in.

      I figured out why this doesn’t apply for USA.
      It’s because of the metrics system.
      Your reading for heights is expressed in feet’s and inches due to imperial measurements system.
      Now I’m from Slovenia Europe and we use only centimeters for the height measuring.
      You have to convert your height into inches only then divide by 2,5.
