I can relate to savage on this one because I came from Jamaica at a young age and went through the same thing at the schools I attended in Florida.

Well im orginally from New Orleans and moved to Atlanta when I was 6. As i grew up in Atlanta everybody would say I had an accent but whenever I went back to New Orleans every body said I sounded country. It was crazy what each area was hearing my accent differently but I couldn't tell.
I can go to Vegas and pass as American but in New York everyone knows I’m Canadian lol.
I am from East London. It's definitely interesting that he is from London. He went when very young though so don't mean that much. Just he is from the UK.

I don’t care for 21 Savage however I will say my cousin who was born in the USA and her mom went to London with her when my cousin was 7 years old. We were both the same age and the first time we talked to her after her mom took off with her I was 21 years old old and was shocked that she had that London accent and you would never known she never had that accent before. So it’s true if you go somewhere after many years you are going to sound American or if you go to Jamaika you’ll sound Jamaican etc

It's possible to lose most of your former accent if you've not been verbally communicating for that long before moving to a foreign land..
So at 6yrs old he would have been speaking coherently for only about 2½yrs; the brain is still really sponge like @ that stage of development, soaking up everything vividly.
You move at such a young age to a foreign country and go to school there, hang with the local kids at the playground, in your neighborhood, eventually your pattern of speech will change...
If he had moved at a later age, say 12/13yrs and claimed to have lost all traces of his former accent then you can call b.s on that, but the age he arrived here is a big factor..
