- A paper released by members of the Prime minister's economic advisory council has generated a political storm. The paper argued that India's Hindu population has decreased by 7.8% in 65 years since 1950 and correspondingly the Muslim population has witnessed an increase of 43.5% in the corresponding year.
Calling the paper and the headlines around it as misleading and inaccurate the PFI said there has been a "selective portrayal of data' and that decadal growth of Muslim population had been on a downward trajectory, "outpacing that of Hindus"

Hindu population as a % of total population has decreased from about 85% to at least about 78%+ in 65 years. No running away from this.
Report is correct.People are not blind they are able to see around the country whose numbers are increasing at good speed .We are not fools
In 1950 out of 100 people 9.84 were Muslim and in 2015 it rose to 14 out of 100. If that is true then that is all most people are interested in. The rest is blah.
Please come to west Bengal. You will feel ground reality. Don't try to hide the fact.

It's impossible to deny the change in demography....people like her trying to hide / misinterpret this fact clearly explains that there was a population jihad supported by those parties which are using them as vote banks.....I'm from Kerala and what is the rubbish she is talking about kerala?? Yes, overall fertility rate among all sections in kerala is very low except Muslims...Muslims have the highest fertility rate there due to which their % population almost doubled in Kerala....as we know, now both ruling party and opposition cares only about them in Kerala and all other religions are slowly getting suppressed within kerala

I am afraid for our country if she is an expert -> she wants us to look at the overall numbers rather than percentage reduction! Also, even in relatively developed South, the Muslim population is higher than Hindus!

The math is simple (reaching 18% starting from 10%)- if the report is right, the muslim growth rate is drastically higher (1.8x hindu growth rate + 0.2) - what is the myth ?
