Hi Jasmine, thank you for your comment. I bought them as a bundle of big wooden and unfinished pieces from FB Marketplace. Seem to be leftovers of someone who has build a wall in a house. I have sanded them down and made them into blocks to play with. Do you have a "buy nothing" group on FB for your neighborhood? Maybe someone has some for you too! 🥰💝 I paid $10 for mine, but I am sure most people would just give them away for free. Otherwise you might have some luck finding some for sale like me. Hi Josephine I have listen to the video of what you hate about Waldorf, comments are closed (and I imagine why) so I answer here. First of all I was myself a Waldorf mother for a few years. I had study and practice a lot of anthroposophy until I realized that is cult like. Waldorf is based completely on this spiritual movement, that's why there is not an alternative for the religion hour.. because the religion (anthroposophy) is present in all the curriculum. That's why they study lives of Saints in the second grade or ancient testament in the third. And yes they use to study others religion through mithology, but always from the perspective of Steiner vision. What's the point, they don't explain clearly to parents why they do certain things, the anthroposophical meaning. The color of the skin is another point, well for Steiner the color of the skin is pink, peach color, and for him colors have a spiritual meaning, so more clear more spiritual, a few conferences are without doubt racists. That's why many toys are still like that nowadays, but the worst part of this is that anthroposophist believe in those things, so you can have a teacher who believe in it! About the technology, they still believe that technology comes from ahriman a sort of demon that influence the evolution of humanity 🙄🤦. They believe in this today! So this will never change. Not to mention why children don't read until six or seven, because they can be damaged from a spiritual point of view. Those things are impossible to know if you don't know anthroposophy unfortunately, and parents, especially mothers struggle with parenting trying to fit or to understand why. I Know the surface can be nice, but under there is an organization. You can find more information looking for Waldorf critics. I think honestly that they put so many pressure on parents to fit in, and it's wasted time, cause children needs real freedom, real love, not a cult. They need to experiment, they need art but not anthroposophical art, with some colors, or only watercolor or only wax...this is not art. Every child is different and they want to learn, they want to understand..in waldorf they avoid that children learn too early but this is not right, because many children want to. I understood all those things when my son has grown up. I know that there is a lot of effort, economic, time, so it's difficult to give up everything, but please take information on what they do exactly in schools and what is it anthroposophy. Take care 🙏
I add another thing, they hate critics, they just cannot stand if one criticize Steiner, because he is considered as a clarvoyaint and an initiate, today! not one hundred years ago. He is the guru. So like every cult if you criticize the guru or some ideas you are the problem, not them. They say you don't know enough, or you have not understand, or you had a bad experience, but they don't recognize that anthroposophy is part of the school and part of the curriculum. Also, they check regularly social media to see if someone is criticizing 🤷🤦 It's not nice to hear I know but it's the true about this movement. 😢
