I see no reason that Ian should deviate. I expect either another Ruy Lopez, another French, or some poorly executed novelty in the Sicilian. If they play with any reasoning of their situation they will prepare a Sicilian. I'm guessing a closed Sicilian? And Ian will happily play to equalize try to win an endgame. Maybe the Marshall Sicilian?
Love how this starts with nuances of cutting edge opening theory, and ends with an in depth discussion of K+P v K endgames. All delivered by Fabi in exactly the same style. 🤣
In some spanish speaking countries, when a mother has a child and the father is out of the picture, the child has the mother's last name twice, as opposed to normal case where the first last name from the father and second last name from the mother.

I think next game Ding will either succumb to pressure or draw. If he manages a draw here, then I predict Ding WILL win game 12. Just a prediction, I could be wrong of course.
Fabi referred to this game in 2015 during the commentary when they talked about time scrambles: ua-cam.com/video/dNgXqOLM7CE/v-deo.html It is similar to what happened in Game 7 between Nepo and Ding.
I speak as a spectator. I'm disappointed in this match. I don't believe that Ding's mind is 100 percent in this match. I agree 👍 with Fabiano's early observation. Ding's preparation is not as good as Nepomniachtchi 's and is not quite up to par for a world chess championship match if I interpreted the statement correctly.
@@andrejatodorovic4094 Magnus floated the idea that he wasn't gonna defend the title, so the players should have known that 2nd could have meant something. And knowing this, he fought hard to get 2nd place. Who else should be there, if not Ding (and don't say Magnus, since he chose to not play)?
Ding and Nepo have landed into a very exciting bloodbath. The most exciting match in the history of chess .It is equal in excitement to Fischer Spasky match. Fabi speaks very clearly. Bravo Nepo and Ding!!!
If/when Ding loses this match he will never compete for the World Championship again. He will be a "broken" man. He has shown both preparation and psychological weakness in this World Championship match. It will be up to the next generation, i.e., Firouzja, Gukesh, Abdusattorov, Erigaisi, and the next unknown (perhaps unborn) 2800+ GM to dethrone Nepo as FIDE World champion or Magnus from the #1 rated player in the world. Just sayin...
I dunno. Nepo looked pretty broken at the end of his match with Magnus when he was piling on the blunders; soon he was dominating the Candidates tournament.
@@mjtpli Nepo prepares and plays with a seasoned team, a super computer, and state support. Ding does not. Also, Nepo has faced the best, Magnus and won the Candidates twice. Ding would not even be in the "Championship" but for Magnus giving up the title. Additionally, Firouzja is now the #2 in the world and the match is now between the #2 and #4 in the world. Finally, to agree with Kasparov and others, a match for the World Chess Championship without Magnus is no "Championship". It is generally agreed that a match for the World Chess Championship should be between the two "best" (however "best" is defined or determined) chess players in the world. Nope. Wrong take. If Nepo loses he ll be devastated dare I say super depressed etc. That d mean 2 lost wc matches plus lost wc rapid wc 960. I hope he wins for his own sake. If Ding loses he ll learn from the experience and come back stronger. We shall see.
So here's the problem. In a situation where maybe the players don't want to show too much or okay I have a chance to play this idea against another strong player and see if there's anything in it? A title Tuesday? All fine. But in the context of a WCC Match, game 10. This line makes no reasonable sense. It's a draw that trades away your Knights with no real gain and with them any chance of a viable game. In blitz or rapid you're looking at a concrete position with limited time there's winning chances. In a classical game? This was simply just violence for the sake of violence. Sending the Knights off to die for nothing. like how to control the dark squares? Then the only hope is keeping the Rooks and those trade away immediately first chance too? I'm so confused by the conception of this match? These games have no purpose aside from maybe, "We don't believe Ian can actually play chess let's get him out of book." Which is absurd! Just an awful effort by the whole team and they are running out of opportunities. Maybe this game in the first quarter but definitely not game 10!!
It is pretty amazing that, while these 2 players are not worthy of a final at all, the final itself is the best in the last 7-8 years of wc finals. Shows that Magnus made the right choice
What do you mean by "not worthy of a final at all?!" Unlike Ding, Nepo legitimately fought his way to this stage, crushing the field along the way, it's not his fault Magnus bailed out last second. Ding on the other hand... ?
@@andrejatodorovic4094 Nepo is an insane player but hasn't got a world champion's mentality. He breaks under pressure. He reminds me of Hikaru actually and that's not a good hing at all. This is still just my opinion btw. relax

Fabi put his complete heart to explain king n pawn vs king endgame .
mini explosion of tension > premature attackulation
Nice addition of the clocks at the top of the board!
From here out, a peaceful result on the board is a violent result for Ding

I agree, he played a perfect game, extinguishing Ding's hopes with every move, 99,7% accuracy, that was a brilliant defense.
Nepo has white tomorrow and it hasn't been looking for Ding with black
I predict this upcoming tension explosion coming might lead to a premature attackulation :)
Somehow the plug will be pulled on white and black shall descend for the win. Ding will be the Captain and Nepo will doff the hat.
Tip for how to pronounce Ian's last name. It's actually one less syllable than it appears in the romanized spelling: ne-pom-na-shi.
Did you copy Hikaru’s thumbnail idea. Look at the video “Wow! Ding Strikes Back!”; both have Ding and Nepo as Sherlock/watson
