What units are R, the breathability resistance pressure?

R=Resistance is measured in millimeters of water or mm H20. The BYD masks had a reading of 12-16 mm H20 which is the equivalent of 117- 160 Pascals.

How do we read this? Is a higher resistance better or worse? And what range is breathable/not breathable?

@@lisamarielunt Lower resistance means easier breathing. Super breathable masks are below 10 mm H2O, aprproximately 100 Pascals. Some N95 respirators measure in the 60-90 Pascal range, e.g. Gerson 3230, 3M Auras.
