When Crystal Cathedral was designed, Reverend Schuller wanted to continue allowing people to worship from their cars. WE ALL KNOW HOW DIFFICULT IT IS TO PULL AN ELEPHANT THROUGH THE EYE OF A NEEDLE ..!!!
Wonderful spending priorities
I don’t believe this church was a waste of money, this church is beautiful Art.... I’m Catholic but I wished the Christians still owned it. “The Glory of Christmas” will be missed.
Catholics are Christians.
look I understand as much as the next guy not wanting to spend so much money to build a cathedral, but I absolutely know most of you who are complaining about this and the cost of it are absolutely fine with all of those old cathedrals that took so much more money and literal centuries to build.
Not necessarily. In centuries past it could’ve been a joint communal effort and more art and craftsmanship involved…they are literally just signing some contracts, sending some computer digits over the screen, and outsourcing to corporations with no spiritual involvement.
What a waste of money!
No, it is not a waste. It was an absolute bargain. The Crystal Cathedral was purchased for $57.5 million. There are some estates in Newport Beach and Laguna currently going for more.
Bishop Sheen was once invited by Robert Schuller to preach in the Crystal Cathedral.
"He believed God deserved the best." That's hysterical. Except it's also tragic.
Why in the world would you need this just to warship GOD. I don't know much about this building or the people who preached there.
Nothing is enough.
Just stay in California 😜.
2 Timothy 3:5
“Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.”
King James Version (KJV)
I have to ask where is the Presence of Holy Spirit in all of this? The Church is not the building, it is not brick-and-mortar, it is not glass and stone.
1 Peter 2:5
“Ye also, as lively stones, are built up a spiritual house, an holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices, acceptable to God by Jesus Christ.”
King James Version (KJV)
Earthquake will level this.
Not likely. During the conversion the structure of the Cathedral was refitted to withstand earthquakes. The whole structure was reworked including replacing the panes of glass and grout that were deteriorating on it exterior surface

Dr. Schuller and his ministry led me to Christ and to become a Christian as a teenager. As a young college student, I was honored to have donated one of the 10,000 windows of the cathedral with my name at the side of it. It truly is a special place, even though now owned by the Catholic Church. I am glad that the Catholic Church did not name it after one of their saints, but named it Christ Cathedral. The name Christ Cathedral makes it a cathedral for all Christians of all different Christian traditions.
"THE MAN BEHIND THE MASK" BY PASTOR /PROFESSOR WALTER VEITH POWERFUL WATCH... TRUTH ALWAYS WINS ALWAYS WINS ❤️❤️❤️
You people have nerve complaining about a sound system multi millions on a church ridiculous a man of GOD would have helped GODS people with that money 💰
Those pastors preach a fake translation of the gospels.
This video made me weep. This has nothing to do with God. It's pure pride and evil. God save us all.
What is evil about this? Please be concrete and specific in your response.
Imagine if people spend their money on charity rather than a church. There'd be a lot less suffering in the world.
Rather than?
Acts 17: 24 "God that made the world and all things therein, seeing that he is Lord of heaven and earth, dwelleth *NOT* in temples made with hands;"
1st John 3: 6 "Whosoever abideth in him *SINNETH NOT:* whosoever sinneth hath *NOT* seen him, *NEITHER* known him."
Matthew 23: 5 "But *ALL* their works they do for to be seen of men: they make broad their phylacteries, and enlarge the borders of their garments,"
This utterly DISGUSTS me.
ALL these people are SOOOOO far from God you wouldn't believe it if it was shown to you.
If you STILL sin, you are NOT Saved.
Figure it out.

Think of how many people could’ve been help with that money instead of wasting it on a building like that disgraceful in my opinion
I say that to myself, everyone o see a democrat doing much much better then us God loving middle class.
DISGUSTING waste of God's money.
And no you didn’t build the worlds largest organ.
I’ve constructed organs for the past 40yrs, and it’s the worlds largest organ.
While all your homeless people on your streets?😢
You mean the congregation bought a new sound system!
Poor red states couldn’t built it. 😎🇺🇸

Nice office building
Can't build anything now.
Thanks y’all
That should be one interesting expenditure...
Was this church about the glory of God, or the glory of Schuller? And it wasn't made of crystal and it wasn't a cathedral as the RCA doesn't have bishops.
Sure is not 1% of 600 billion 700 million is it
For the love of money is the root of all evil.
No it isn’t
Sin is
I wonder if he will be able to look the Lord in the eye. How easily people give away their hard earned money to such decadent monstrosities with a hope of receiving salvation or maybe " please God". If they open the Bible and read, they will know that salvation is free. It cannot be bought.
I love that book how to build a cathedral
Five people in my family went that way at the bottom of the last comment that ends and for secretary
Lost souls overspending ?
Looks good.
Why do we need God if we have ao much wisdom, per some of the comments here
“God wanted the best?” Sorry, He is amongst the poor and downtrodden, the sad and the lonely. He is in a dirt covered hut and in creaky termite eaten country chapels. A grand place of worship has nothing to do with Christ’s love and compassion for all people. I read recently that my church, the Holy Roman Catholic Church, is the single most wealthy institution in the world. Rich in dollars, rich in deceit, rich in abuse, rich in coverups, rich in those mortal sins they so freely condemn the parishioners of comitting. Growing up in the Catholic religion I can’t think of a mass I ever attended where money was not asked for, focused on, nor obligation that we weren’t reminded of, from the building fund to some village of heathens in Africa we needed to support. From the old car the pastor wanted to replace or another stained glass cleaning that had to happen. It’s easy to say now that I believe in God and pray to Him every day but I no longer believe in my church. The hypocrisy is just too overwhelming.
I went to an Amway meeting back in the day... inspiring but,,, I was not sold...and I did not bite the bait... I am not saying he is bad... I am saying be careful. Of the wolf...
Building something like this in that state, bit like polishing a 💩 and being proud of the shine.
?
People get tire of spread lie that why it going bankrupt 😂
When I get rich I'm going to go shopping in the Smithsonian for necklaces and jewelry you know just the old stuff that they don't need anymore or they don't want on display anymore or stuff that they actually have to sell are you going to buy all my stuff there
That looks like the grey states roof on that , that's one of the most frightening things I've seen in a while and that's with honesty
terrible
This is a prime example of when Satan takes over the House of God.
No, this is when the Catholic church buys a Cathedral with other architecturally significant structures that are located on a vast in size campus for only 57.5 million dollars. There is nothing Satanic about this extraordinary bargain. I guess you might say it was a steal.
I think in God's eye's both owners of THIS building were and are an abomination in His sight!
They made the church 🤢🤢🤢🤢
Lawd
youtube sucks

Oh yes, a man who spent untold millions on a building that wasn’t even sustainable. God’s money well spent.
The remuddle of this building is a travesty.
