Great reaction Ryan and thanks again for sharing more about your experiences from the trip and those concerts. Lovebites performances definitely look impressive and each member brings incredible dimension to their songs, whether its through power/distortion or a delicate/intricate piano concerto. Ryan, thanks for this reaction to "M.D.O." LIVE, and your commentary about Tyler taking you to Japan to see shows, your experiences there and the difference in your understanding of LOVEBITES, as a band and as individual performers through being present at a LIVE show. It all encourages me to 'get it together' to get myself over there !!
With Midori & Miyako, I have said that Miyako, being primarily self-taught on guitar with a book, "Mechanical Training Phrases From Hell" and learning others' riffs/chops/songs, I find her solos more 'familiar' than Midori, who learned all the techniques fluently at Musician's Institute & now fluidly blends them to convey her own unique 'melodies' I find deeply expressive in unfamiliar ways. I am endlessly fascinated with the merging of these two virtuosos!
As a drummer/guitarist (singer/songwriter too) I find Haruna to also possess a very unique approach, elaborately enhancing every song while never 'stepping on' the others regardless of her 'busy' style. A 'foundation' that helps to set-apart LOVEBITES music to fulfill all the 'wants' I perceived in all other "Metal bands" of the past & present.
Asami's lyrics are essential "icing" on their unsurpassed compositions, arrangements & performances.

The first Lovebites live performance I watched it was Battle in the East 2018. Midori's solo parts are one of the most unexpected and powerful impressions. Very creative.

This is a good one. I think Fami has added a dimension to the band that it hadn't quite acquired before her arrival.
She probably has, but I don't think that this is a song for her to really shine.

When you saw them play, how big are the venues? is the band ready for stadium shows?
One was Namba Hatch in Osaka. It is about 1500 capacity, seated. The other was a smaller venue. They've def played larger crowds. I think they could get a large following here.
Another example of how well LOVEBITES fuse thrash and power metal elements (and perhaps even a little bit of punk) into a single heavy metal masterpiece.

Their management team should consider adding English subtitles to LOVEBITES' official videos. Many UA-camrs are watching their videos, but most of them say, 'It's cool, even though I don't catch the lyrics.' 🤦♀

Not a fan of this one. MDO and Thunder Vengeance are my least favorite Lovebites songs. My favorites are: Solider Stands Solitarily, Judgement Day, Dissonance, Dystopia Symphony, A Frozen Serenade. Just my opinion.
M.D.O. has grown on me over time, but I agree that they certainly have better songs. But performance-wise this is excellent as usual.
I think Thunder Vengeance is more interesting in the Heavy Metal Never Dies 2021 version, and MDO is more interesting in the Daughters of Dawn 2019 and Five of a Kind 2020 versions.
Seems a it strange to put out a live version of a song which is 4 years old and their versions that sound better. The Tokyo DiversCity 2020 version sounds a lot better, possibly because on this newer version the audience is mixed higher ?
@@cepho8349 I would actually like to see more Lovebites fans saying what they don’t prefer, and not just what they do prefer, so it’s not like we blindly praise everything. Having said that, I think some fans of the other all-female Japanese bands are getting jealous over the recent attention Lovebites has been receiving (particularly after the Judgement Day album), and turned their jealousy into trolling.

Bloody talented ladies but the type of power/thrash metal songs they usually play are just not to my taste, I wish they can be more diverse in terms of music style.
This isn't a power metal song but more a thrash song. I can see why people aren't really in to powermetal I only like it when lovebites does it 😊
To each their own, I think if this type of music isn't popular in America it might be popular in the UK/Europe. Lovebites announced that they will perform at 4 concerts in Europe and 1 concert in America this year. Looks like there will be many more in Europe.
The are Lovebites and they play Heavy Metal (and this very diverse, IMO)!
