I'm a bit late to the party, but I wanted to say thanks so much for sharing this journey (all parts)! This is really great storytelling and I appreciate you sharing the emotions you experienced during the trip and some of the mental health changes you experience mid-trip as well as post-PCT. Pretty freaking great cinematography as well. Just subbed and I'm excited to see what's next. The AZT is something I'm contemplating for spring so this was a fantastic watch.
Good stuff! Really enjoying your commentary. I'm trying to find a reason to finish the AZT in a couple years when I'll have some more space in my life. So I'm watching and learning and contemplating my why. Much appreciate your insight and experience. Keep it comin'!
Yeah....Glad you're loving it! I've been planning my own.... for about 3.5 years now...haha But this, that and the other have taken hold. Anyways, looking foward to the rest of your trip! -Joe
Thanks for chapter one of your Arizona hike. It will be good to see how your journey goes. Glad you found some family to be with. Safe travels. Keep the beautiful photos coming!!
You got some gorgeous scenery shots already, with some beautiful skies. I'm excited to see the landscape as you go, and your masterful ability to produce video. I bet you'll quickly settle into this hike, get your trail legs back, and begin to enjoy it now that you're beginning to meet other hikers. Nice first episode, I look forward to the next one.
Thanks April! Yes I hope it gets better. I think it’s maybe a little harder to motivate given that this was never a “bucket list” hike for me, I don’t have the level of determination. Plus, the PCT always felt like home, and this does not at all. Just some stuff I have to work through.
I’m excited to follow your journey. I’m routing for you. I live here by passage one and have wanted to hike the trail so badly but work and life won’t give me time. I’m stuck as a day hiker for now but I’m gonna live vicariously watching your videos along your journey. God speed brother. Stay encouraged. You got this!
I hope you don't give up on this trail. It is challanging but rewards you with great scenery. If you have to wait out the snow and mud let us know and we'll host you as long as it takes.
Im really curious how much snow will be there in 2-3 weeks. We have to hike north of Flagstaff which is quite a bit higher up. In fact we go really across the base of Arizona Ski Bowl. My hiking partners tell me, to just take it one day at a time. I remember Airdrop telling me, in the snowy Sierras in May, “that sounds like a tomorrow problem” 😂
I am a novice hiker after running cross country in my early 20s. I completely understand what you mean by not having your trail legs yet even though you've accomplished so much before - my endurance is shot! It is a downer, but I know it will come back with time. I am hopeful that each day will get better and this trail starts opening up to you. Thank you for sharing your adventure thus far 😊❤ you've got this!
That was so pro James!!! Just finished watching on a big screen. Beautiful balance between dialogue & scenery & great soundtrack. You produced it so well (…on your phone?). Leaves me hungry for next episode- (& another trail on my desire list). Travel well. Clint
Too bad hiking sucks for you. Why post nothing but negativity? You took away any pleasure/ inspiration I might have gotten by telling me it's really not worth it,etc.... Why even bother then dude?
Love your video's.....I am so excited to follow your journey.
Love your videos man! Glad you’re back. Enjoy and remember….Mitakpa!
Glad I met you Magnet! I look forward to following you!
Safe travels!

Hey Joan! We are waiting out a storm today in a hotel which is just great. I got off the mountain just in time.

Hey Magnet. Hiked PCT in 19, I am still not able to let it go. (I know, 4 years).. Gues part if my soul is still there. You are not the only one. :)
Thanks for sharing that! I totally understand. I miss it SOOO much. But honestly this trail is growing on me. I’ll explain in my next episode.
@Magnet Northbound Enjoy this trail. I hope to return to the PCT in 24

It's snowing at the moment in Flagstaff. Hopefully it will be melted by the time you get there. Be safe, looking forward to following your journey.

Anyone notice the cloud at the 4:20 mark looked like a horse running? 😊
Wander Women started the trail March 3rd. Maybe you will see them.
I passed them when they were off trail, unfortunately.
