Thanks for posting this video. I was born in Guadalajara and came to the U S when I was ten. I still go back to visit friends and family. It irks me that so many people including Hollywood still portray Mexico as adobe buildings, sombreros and such. What you published in your video is the Guadalajara I grew up in and still know and love. Thank you! 😁
It’s funny how Americans think Mexico is just dry, when only 26% of Mexico is desert lol. There are only deserts and cactuses in northern Mexico, which also extends to the United States btw! The rest of Mexico (74%) is filled with rainforest, Jungles, tropical savannas, forestry and Mediterranean climate. Meanwhile the United States is 40% semi arid and desert 😂 In fact Mexico is the 4th most biodiverse country in the world
Well most Americans either think Mexico is desert (because of the border states Sonora, Chihuahua, and Baja California) or a jungle (because of vacations to Cancun and Puerto Vallarta). There are tons of movies that portray Mexico being jungly such as the movie Apocalypto. And you are correct the majority of the western side of the US is desert, I live there but it isn’t as populated as the east coast. Same thing in Mexico where the desert north is less populated and the south is more populated. I think that Mexico has pretty deserts like the ones in Baja California which resemble the mountainous colorful deserts of Arizona but with beaches and turquoise water.
Most Americans also think every inch of Mexico is a warzone with dusty streets and people running for cover from gunfire. I've seen so many "I'd never go to Mexico, its dangerous" and heard so many comments from people too. They're always watching those crime video, NEVER watching these everyday ones. People honestly think you should hear explosions and scared people in this video. SMH
Im having the opposite experience lol I thought I wanted to move to Queretaro or Oaxaca. However, I've been living in guadalajara for over a month & the longer I stay the harder it gets to leave. The people are friendly and accommodaing. The hotel I live at is beyond affordable a month & it's located within a walking distance to everything I need. I really love guadalajara so far.
3:25 there is only 1 apple owned apple store in Mexico, so most cities in Mexico rely on official distributors owned stores. The 2 main offical distribution stores are Mac store and I shop which as I mentioned despite not being owned by apple do have the distribution rights and sell authentic products.
This video made me laugh cause it brought back memories. I used to teach an English class in an office building that was right at the entrance to Andares so I was there all the time. I lived downtown and it's so far from downtown Guadalajara that it was a pain to get to. I spent more time on the bus than I did teaching the class. Most Tapatios (as residents of Guadalajara are called) I know hate Andares. It's for the "fresas". ("Fresas" are those Mexicans with money who never eat street tacos and are ashamed to admit that they're Mexican.) I found it interesting. As different from downtown as you can get. And Dan, you have excellent taste. Qin is a Chinese fast-food place I've only seen in Guadalajara and I LOVE the food there. I'm going to Guadalajara in June and it's on my list of places to eat.
@@thoughtsontravelandlife The class was from 5:00-6:30 PM. To be safe I'd leave home at 3:30. Usually arrive around 4:30 and spend half an hour at Andares before the class. If I ever meet up with you in Mexico City I'll take you to a Chinese restaurant where the Chinese immigrants of the city eat.
Hi good day! I would like to ask your permission to use an excerpt from your video, to make a video about the most exclusive shopping centers in Mexico on my channel. Of course, if you gave me permission I would give you the corresponding credits in the video, in addition I would leave the name of your channel and the link to your channel in the video description (or some other page of yours that you would like it to include), I hope you answer and in advance I would really appreciate it. Thank you very much, have an excellent day!

I love Guadalajara ❤️
Lived there for 3 years during the early 2000's and have wonderful memories, amazing place indeed.
Appreciate you showing the modern Mexico, and not just the old Mexico. Most people just assume all Mexico is the same.
Pretty cool and modern. That would rival WEM here in Edmonton. 👍🏻😎🇨🇦
