    Try cutting half way through from one side then move to the other side. You cut from one position beneath the tree, and perhaps that is part of the issue you have with the rope saw getting stuck.

    It's because the area of wood is so small the chain can form a "circle" that small. You have to spread yours arms so the ropes spread apart as far as you can or have someone else be a few feet away and pull one rope and you the other

    I think I'll buy one since they are inexpensive. Looks like a second rope on end of the limb tied off is what's needed to make the cutting gap get continuously wider and wider as you cut. The limb laying on the ground pinched because it was being cut from under side instead of overhead and the gap was closing in on the saw instead of opening.

  • @gwer369
    @gwer369 5 років тому +5

    YES they get stuck when the limb diameter get's around 4"
    Today I am going to heavily oil the blade on mine and try it again on a larger limb

  • @NobodyWhatsoever
    @NobodyWhatsoever 6 років тому +1

    Taras, the issue with this kind of saw (the kinds of chainsaw you pull like that) is that they work with a larger diameter branch or log, but when it gets too thin -- less diameter -- it stops working so well, and gets stuck.

    The Angle has to be bigger at the end, the chain should at least be 90° cause you gotta understand that you aren't pulling the chain around the wood but into it when pulling in a straight line.

    The bottom cut is pinching. Gravity and direction of cut. You might consider cutting standing just off to one side at first and then switching sides and then finishing off by standing further away.
