The peace and serenity of Casar, NC adds to its small town charm. Casar was originally incorporated as Race Path in 1890. In 1903, the town's name was to be changed to Caesar, but when Joe Meade of the US Postal Service completed and sent off the application to change the town's name, he misspelled the new name and the approved incorporation documents came back with the misspelled name of Casar as the town's new official name, instead of Ceasar. So the town kept the misspelled name and became known as Casar, NC.

What an interesting story. Seagrove, NC, got its name from a misspelling as well.

Nice video. Tim. I live about 60 miles west of Casar and the population growth over the last 10 years in my mainly farming area has turned the landscape into nothing but gated communities. Sadly I see that future for many small peaceful North Carolina towns

I agree and it’s a shame. We need peaceful farming communities like this. The ones around Raleigh are really taking a hit right now as more people move into the area.
