Hello friend. A month or so ago I went out to the beach and actually collected my own seaweed need my own kelp seaweed fertilizer! It was so easy and it’s difficult to understand how much they charge for the fertilizer because the small amount makes so much!

kelp is a deterrent for insects, the fish and kelp together is a powerful combination. I'm currently using Bare Ground fish fertilizer because its dirt cheap from Amazon (20/gal)

heavymechanic2 I recently a few months ago made my way down to the ocean and made my own kelp fertilizer! I also recently did a video on how to make the same type of liquid fertilizer with Tom for a leaves. If you don’t live near an ocean comfrey is your alternative plan to make an incredible liquid fertilizer.

Oh thanks for sharing that information! It makes sense I guess being a big company. Their product is become kind of unaffordable too. I thank you for the information I will have to do some research around that.

      Hello!
We are a strange micro climate because our property is Situated in the mountains and also in a redwood forest. It’s generally around 70° or lower. But we do get heat in the summer but not a ton of sun due to being surrounded by trees. Tactically where the zone nine-ish. But sometimes go into 11!

I do use other fertilizers. My main fertilizer actually is urine. I have a video on my station about it. Pee makes an amazing fertilizer! But you have to know how to use it and dilute it properly. The plants get specific treatments in the spring time in different parts of the year in the soil. But during growth or the growing season it’s mainly foliar feeding’s because it’s the most affordable way and effective way to get the nutrition to the plants. I find the kelp fish is the most effective. Worm tea is excellent too!

Again I find the trick with using fertilizer on the leaves. 1-You always want to feed your plants no later than 11:30 AM in the morning. Some people say no later than 11 AM. The legendary gardener Jerry Baker had stated this many years ago. I think it’s a combination of metabolism and not putting things on the leaves during the full sun so they don’t get burned. 2 -I do less strength and more often. You can’t overfeed things especially with high nitrogen fertilizer us. Then what happens is you have giant leaves but no fruit or flowers! Which is not great for vegetables or berries. LOL.so if instructions say a tablespoon per gallon? You’ll do a half a tablespoon per gallon but instead of every other week you will spray it on the leaves every week.

@@ScottRiddleArtist can you recommend any books or educational materials for plant science and phytochemistry students just starting out? Also I like in a dry hot climate, can I use fish kelp blend on my pot plants at dusk rather than dawn? They have gone into flowering about 1 to 2 weeks ago, and I was considering using at least one foliar spray. One today, maybe another in a week or so?

Or in two to three weeks?
