- We encountered incredible fishing, quite literally as good as it gets. Tuna were in the 30-80 lbs class and excellent grade yellowtail up to 40lbs. We wrapped up the trip loading up on rock fish and lingcod.
This group of people were a lot of fun to fish with, and the charter master Michael made every effort to ensure peoples needs were met and had a good time.
The Intrepid captain and crew were excellent. Not only did they put us right in the action, they provided a top tier fishing experience that is friendly both to new and experienced anglers alike. Food prepared by chef Brian & Kasey was high quality.
Thanks to everyone for making it such an enjoyable trip. Hopefully get to fish with you all again!
Primarily filmed on iPhone 15, GoPro 10, and GoPro 7, edited with Davinci Resolve.
Tackle:
-Size 1 through 2/0 circle and J hooks
-FG knot for braid to leader
-SD jam knot & palomar knots to hooks, irons, poppers
-40-80 lb fluorocarbon (A few braid-mono setups for throwing irons)
Fish were caught on live bait, yo-yo, surface iron, & popper.

There's a tuna!some big yellow tail! Looks like a great day 👍On my bucket list!Cool video 👍 🎣
Good footage. Nice work
Way to go Jacob!
Awesome video...Tight lines!
Nice fishing video! 🐟🎣🚤
Insane catching trip ! Great video, was there any rod and reel setup you didn’t catch with lol What surface iron and line setup would you recommend?
Tip to tip basically lay your real on the dudes shoulder so he can find out where the tangle is. Don't keep pulling don't walk away.
you got a great cast with a reel that big- is it an avet lx?
Yes Avet LX 2 speed. They cast pretty good for the size. I also really like the narrow high profile HXJ 2 speeds to cast irons and yoyo.
All yellow tail?
Great vid but... Not a Thank you at 34:40??
...or 37:03 :(
...or 38:08... okay I'm done.
Its hard to work with anyone when you are dying fighting that big tuna
@ a simple "thank You" ? really? and you actually are trying to justify that??
Nice vid but I didn't get to see the fish, show your fish.
I have the Avet reels so I dont have to mess with the gears much at all,(yes,I'm a small older female and need all the help possible when landing big tunas and especially when I hook the occasional taxman, the big bluesharks) all with 3 gears and they are a lifesaver when needed.
People, take 30 seconds and spike your fish asap and take out your hooks when you can. Dont let the fish suffer and flop all over the deck. Also keep ALL BAIT FISH OFF THE DECKS, NO EXCUSES. I have seen too many slips, falls, busted open bleeding heads(that ends the trip for all). Deck hands are too busy so help out
