for those who tried this and failed because it turns into a soup : when you mix the chocolate with the cream, make sure the chocolate is TOTALLY cooled down, if not cold. the heat from the chocolate dissolves everything. anyway, if u did get a "soup", it's no problem just put in the freezer for less than two hours and you will get a really great mousse after.
abdallah h thank you so much! That’s really helped as I have just made the mixture now and was concerned that it doesn’t look anything like the consistently Nigella gets in this video! 😊👍
Oh gosh.... I wished I had read this comment before making it!! Mine has literally turned into chocolate soup! I've just put it in the freezer.... Hope it can be saved! Thanks alot!
I love chocolate mousse but we never had it in our family for a while cause of my nephew being allergic to eggs, so i tried this recepie out for a family dinner once and it went perfect and everyone loved it. Now we have it at all big family dinners. Thank you, Nigella
When I make this I try different dark chocolate bars to chop up and melt - like mint, espresso bean, etc. so it's different every time. But as others have said, it must cool a LOT or it makes mousse soup!
Despite all that is said about her I would like people to leave her alone and let her get on with her life. I don't like the sound of her horrible husband. She must of been pretty low to use this drug but I feel it was NOT used to the extent described by these horrible people. I admire her
Saira Malhotra some things in cooking you must learn on your own 😂 if you didn't know putting a warm liquid on a cold whipped cream would deflate it, now you know.
I have done this mousse plenty of times. What I do is remove the mixture from the heat when it still has a few lumps and keep stirring. The residual heat will melt the rest. Then, if I'm pressed for time, I pour the mousse into a large cold bowl (put it in the fridge just as you start making the mousse) and stir it a little to help it cool faster, about 5 minutes. Fold in the cream and voilà!
I loved the recipe and the mini marshmallows are a brilliant touch but the final result was too sweet for me. I added a bit of schnapps but it was still very sweet, maybe I need to add more of it. Any tips?
My strategy is blind panic followed by looking so frazzled, stressed out, and scary that nobody dares criticise the slop I put in front of them. I (somewhat grudgingly) prefer your strategy though
Hey 😊 maybe you overworked the mousse? because if you dont 'fold' the chocolate and cream softly it can change its consistency. also please dont tell me you put this in the freezer 😂😊
3 courses in under half an hour is fake news. Tried this recipe. You must give at least 15 mins for the chocolate to cool but do keep stirring from time to time. She doesnt say how long to cool it but when I gave it 5-6 minutes, it still melted the cream which left me with a decadent soup. Chefs beware.

Yeah but mine has started to set
Thanks for your mistake that I know to cool the choc mix first hahaha
biggest teaspoon of vanilla in the world!
Lucy Cecil haaaha agree
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
It was more like a ladle of vanilla
@Vitaliy Markov Ha yeh it's like that two shots of vodka video
True.actually she didn't really use exact amount of ingredients everytime she measures its always excessive.
I love this recipe. Every time I make mousse, I use this one. Works out every time and everyone loves it😍
150 grams mini marshmallows
50 grams soft butter
250 grams good dark chocolate (minimum 70% cocoa solids) chopped into small pieces
284 millilitres double cream
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Thx so much
you forgot the 4T boiling water
Thank u😊
I'm not sure whether to use the 1 teaspoon of vanilla or more, as she gave it a good old glug of vanilla essence, definitely more than a teaspoon.
How should I get 284 (!!!) ml cream?
I love how she is saying the exact measurements but just eyeballing everything. She like “ Bish, ain’t nobody got time for that.”
A teaspoon of vanilla! More like 3 tablespoons!
So delicious and increadibly fast to prepare. I'm lovin it
this was the best mousse recipe ever!!! thank God dont have to use eggs anymore. Thanks Nigella 💗
'You just glide serenely to the fridge' - way to go Nigella! :)
I'd glide serenely into her in the fridge anyday of the week haha
best recipe ever! I use to do it at least once a week, all my friends just love it :))
Try whipping cream if you want it lighter
I love chocolate mousse but we never had it in our family for a while cause of my nephew being allergic to eggs, so i tried this recepie out for a family dinner once and it went perfect and everyone loved it. Now we have it at all big family dinners. Thank you, Nigella
This recipe works perfect every time when I make it .. it’s a rich mousse and quite heavy so to balance it I add berries and whipped cream
When I make this I try different dark chocolate bars to chop up and melt - like mint, espresso bean, etc. so it's different every time. But as others have said, it must cool a LOT or it makes mousse soup!
Such a good mousse! Very adaptable as well - I like mixing in a tbsp of lime juice + lime zest to cut through the richness.

Tried and tested. Simply amazing
Will impress your guests
I once forgot, in a dreadful hurry and with company arriving, to add the butter. The results were so nearly the same that I no longer use it.
phil2u48 I agree, I’ve done that too☺️ same result!
I read this in her voice lol, but good tip all the same
I love your program on BBC 1 Saterday morning , I love your cake and Victoria Sponges recepts woaw .......
it is very nice i like it good recipe I will also try it for my family
Tried this recipe. It was superb. Yummylicious. Thanks ma'am for this lovely recipe 😊😍
But what are the 2 other courses?
I loved that moment too :D She's brilliant ^^
That's a neat trick using the marshmallows because of the gelatine in them fantastic stuff nigela
I did it. It is absolutely delicious. Thank you Nigella
nigella...so cute^^!
It's a shame that you don't share how much the melted chocolate mixture needs to be cooled before adding.
+Saira Malhotra
The brain too is a *MUSCLE!*
Use or lose it. To *DEMENCIA!*
you leave it to cool until it's no longer hot otherwise when you add it to the whipped cream, it would melt.
Saira Malhotra some things in cooking you must learn on your own 😂 if you didn't know putting a warm liquid on a cold whipped cream would deflate it, now you know.

@@teresarivasugaz2313 really good tip with the chilled bowl and residual heat!!
Twas gorgeous! 😊
Can I use mozzarella cheese instead of white chocolate for garnish? Please help
This looks amazingly delicious. Yummy
Thanks for the tip, worked out great!! ♥
Glide serenely is what I do everyday.
So easy yet so clever!
This woman is very charming.
Great idea!!!
Can this mousse be used in a mousse cake? Does it need more stabilizers?
How come every time I watch Nigellas videos I don't remember anything about the recipe at the end of it??
( . Y . )
What series/program is this?
I love too too much Nigella
When you are done with the chocolate it have to cold down
You said one teaspoon of vanila, you poured 4 tablespoons.
more like one tablespoon
2:26, watch again my friend.
yeah that was definitely not one teaspoon lol XD
Kazzzzzo ,😆😆😆 I thought so too. A splash of vanilla.
The more I read this the funnier it gets
lovely is not the word to describe
I loved the recipe and the mini marshmallows are a brilliant touch but the final result was too sweet for me. I added a bit of schnapps but it was still very sweet, maybe I need to add more of it. Any tips?
Flavio Sousa ::: How about very, very dark unsweetened chocolate to counter the marshmallows??
Just reading it makes me realise it will be too sweet for me, even with the 80% cooking chocolate I’ve just added to my supermarket order.
@@LaraineAnne Instant coffee powder will cut the sweetness. Or a shot of espresso in place of the boiling water.
I've tried it n one word" Outstanding"!!!!
Does the result still the same if I replace the double cream with cooking cream?
+Maizatul Nadiah Nadzri Doubt it will be as lilght
can someone who tried it tell me if the mousse gets firm? firm enough to flip it upside down?
The butter, marshmallows and chips kinda made me skeptical at first. But yeah I’m gonna try to make it.
My strategy is blind panic followed by looking so frazzled, stressed out, and scary that nobody dares criticise the slop I put in front of them. I (somewhat grudgingly) prefer your strategy though
Absolutely Gorgeous And Intelligent.
Tastes nice but incredible marshmallowey ...
I'm not a fan of chocolate but that looks reeally good :)
do you need to use cream?
Is this for mousse ?
it is very nice i like it
2:36 Nigella talking about firm peaks is poetic >8D
This is the easiest recipe of chocolate mousse! :))
I love how the Brits use the word "pudding" for dessert.
can i add mangoes in it? if i simply add mango puree in it rather than adding choco in it hot i add puree wen marshmellows are completely melted?
sehrish mirza it should work out... Maybe it won't end up as mousse like as the chocolate helps a little
Just try :)
MissPandasia yeah i did and it came out really really goood 😍
sehrish mirza that sounds delicious! So I'd it turn out like a mango whip? 😍
Add Maple syrup instead of sugar.
That’s the first most calorie bom Chocolate mousse that I have ever seen in my life
Someone knows what is the name of the cream that she adds to vanilla??
It's called double cream
Why is mine lumpy? 🙁
You maybe didn't melt the marshmallows fully?
it did'nt work for me! ;((((
I LUV YOUR MOUSSE......IT'S THE ONLY ONE THAT I MAKE AND EAT🙂🙂🙂🙂🙂
I tend to be slower when folding.
I screwed it up. I followed directions. Mine ended up being rock hard.
Hey 😊 maybe you overworked the mousse? because if you dont 'fold' the chocolate and cream softly it can change its consistency. also please dont tell me you put this in the freezer 😂😊
You may of not added the water just to loosen it slightly
haha I was thinking the same thing! :-X
ohmyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy
I tried this - and it was awful - so I just know i screwed up - because, Nigella only makes awesome recipes :P

taivaan lahja. muuta en keksi nainen ei voi olla enenpää nainen ja vielä uskomattoman siis herkullinen. kaunis sana ei riitä.
So glad she didn't become a news reporter.

🎷
I'm
Amateur stuff here by Nigella. At least make a proper chocolate mousse or call it something else. Absolutely no way this tastes like chocolate mousse👎
it is very nice i like it good recipe I will also try it for my family
