Baby Andy has no appreciable income anymore and KCIII would be fiscally irresponsible to allow deterioration of the property. If he is evicted the lease says he has to be paid back a pro-rated portion of that money (300k per year for 25 years). Why should the taxpayer have to fund that refund (£1.5m currently). Just leave him there rattling around the place all on his own… at least until the pay back clause expires in 2028.

It just seems that would be legally equitable. However, maybe Charles already put a lot of his money into upkeep. In that case, it would be a wash. And Andrew should be evicted.

Andrew has spent at least £7.5 million on Royal Lodge refurbishments. That got rental payments excused for the duration of the 75-year lease. Royal Lodge belongs to the Crown, not to King Charles personally.

I am no great fan of Andrew. He has heated the soup he sits in to a boil. Having said that taking his income away so he can’t maintain his residence and then asking him to move? @Heather Moore The house, like almost all royal homes, is owned by the Crown Estate - a £19.6B independent commercial business involving a wide variety of interests from sporting to wind farms. It is run in the name of the King, but he has no constitutal input into how it is run. Andrew has signed a lease, just like every other tenant living within the Crown Estate. With the size of the house, there are mandatory upkeep costs within the agreement. Effectively, King Charles is significantly cutting his £250k annual allowance he received from the Queen, resulting in a breach of the Crown Estate contract as he is unable to afford the necessary upkeep. The King is not evicting him as he has no legal ability to do so, but he can prevent him from remaining in-situ by cutting his sovereign financial funding

He does have a legal 75 yr lease. It's been said it's really not up to Charles, but to the govt officials that manage the royal residences. Charles owns Highgrove, that's different. All the homes at Windsor are in trust for generations of royals to use.
So a bit of a chess game for Charles to cut his funds so he can't afford to keep The Lodge up, which is in the lease. Now if he does leave, much money will have to be put into the Lodge to bring it up to date for the Waleses. Will the public mind that? Or will Charles pay from his private funds? It's a sticky wicket.

I’d also like to add there was no proof that he did anything with that Virginia woman…a photo and a tawdry story do not equal guilt. It’s my understanding that the queen asked him to settle and make that story go away so she wouldn’t have to suffer through court appearances in her last years of life. But so many Brit’s, males in particular, who should know if the bar for guilt is set this low, they’re half a step away from the same instance. One wrong woman telling a story and they’re done.

Prince Andrew could rent out some of the larger rooms in his house or outside gardens for special occasions in order to pay for the repairs on the property.
If there is enough space for farming, he could lease some land to a gentleman farmer or florist.

The woman was an admitted self child trafficker. She made accusations against others she was forced to retract because she had no proof. The only so called proof she has against Andrew is a photo, of which she doesn't have the original, which many say shows obvious signs of being photoshopped. She also was over the age of consent in both NYC and the UK at the time of the alleged incident, so there's no crime there. As for being "Trafficked", even if it happened (and she was over the age of consent) she could have walked out of the club. Said no. Went to the ladies room and asked a bartender to call the cops. She did none of that, and she certainly walked away from Epstein when she was ready. I don't find her credible.

Now they want a 4th....the traditional home of the Yorks? The Queen Mum lived there alone (except for staff) for decades. NO one wants to live in Frogmore...it's damp and under the main flight path out of Heathrow airport.

I absolutely respect her, so when I say this, I’m simply calling it as I see it, and she’s a very amateur pianist. I’m a classically trained musician, so I know something about the subject. You can see it in the hands and arms of gifted pianists….there’s a relaxation, fluidity, and confidence that’s present in their playing, showing their giftedness and years of hard work, but the Princess hasn’t achieved that. She’s very stiff and deliberate, even though the part she’s playing isn’t at all difficult. I’m glad to see her putting herself out there and contributing, but the boys here made it sound as though she’s a really proficient performer, but she’s not.
