There is a lot to be garnered from your video. First, I love that you showed imperfections. If I had the vitality to tackle that type of fishing, and it was my first time (I’ve never done any ice fishing), I would benefit from watching this.
Thanks Derrek! Trying to show the ups and downs of fishing a new place. For mountain trout, like you've done in the Sierras, the journey is a huge part of it. Catching a trout, even small, is a big bonus.
Good video Troy where the 4 wheeler. At least you got some good pictures. Did you see any wildlife out there that a big one. It still was a fun fishing trip. Thanks for sharing your trip with everyone. Robert
Thanks for watching! No trails that a 4 wheelers or even a snowmobile can make it there that I'm aware of, just by foot. Only wildlife were some birds. And a small brook trout lol
one major tip is never try to re-cut a frozen over hole, as the ice re freezes in a matrix that causes the blade to not cut correctly. you would be cutting so so so much easier on fresh ice.
Yes, agreed. The whole mountain trout fishing experience is more about the adventure than catching big fish or numbers. One or two small trout is a bonus! Thanks for watching, good luck in Ontario this weekend!
Hey man nice video, I’ve fished that place an most of your fish in that lake arent over 17 inches I would down size on my bait next time I go. Use little tighten jigs an meal worms or waxies an you should crush it. Deepest part of that lake is 12 foot
Thanks! That confirms it is shallow. Only hit maybe 8' at max where I was. Tried to get some wax worms that day last minute, but couldn't find a store with them. Small lakes like that are fun, even if the fish aren't big!

I love catching the tiger trout in that lake. Hope you had a fun day
Tigers are awesome! It was fun there even with only a few bites and one small catch.
the fish he caught was a brook trout.
@@robgrubb420 I just know the lake he went to and know there’s tiger trout in it. Definitely a good looking brook he caught
I was hoping to get a tiger. But small Brookies have such great colors too.

Thanks for watching and sharing that info Rob! Good tip. Happy Thanksgiving!
@@troylindner Happy thanks giving to you and yours Mr. lindner
Nice! I am hoping to get out for first ice this weekend in NW Ontario. Have about 4 inches on small lakes.
So much work but I bet that little fish felt as rewarding as any big trophy. Such a beautiful spot!
