Thank you for the honest review, and glad they ended up adding some favorable climbs to your build! Those were definitely the first iteration of the Grippies, and after many conversations with fellow crawlers, I changed a few things up and made them WAY EASIER to mount! I increased the opening, which made them way easier to set the beadlocks! Your new set is on the way brother!
Great video, honestly I just think it depends on the person and the specific build if the are worth the money. I personally think they are after watching it pull that stone slab! Great video!
$35 dollars for micro foams, I am not going to comps to justify the dollar to grip ratio I'm just some guy at his local spot having fun. To top it off all the mounting issues, first run of "new" stuff my dad said always to pass on. I'm sure there is a market for them though. My crappy 2 cents worth.
@@edgargonz12 I feel the same! Most of the time I’m fine with just foams lol. I don’t do comps cause everyone is always a bunch of uptight a holes when competing. I prefer to have fun crawling lol
@@2fmrc after watching your full video, I'm a little worried about finding the right wheel/tire combo. I have a pretty good variety, but now I'm nervous! haha
I figured out that 2 flubs up front and the grippies in the rear works well for me. Keep the back tires from bouncing and the fronts have good lateral stability
🎼🎶 J-E-L-L-O...😆 Cool idea. Maybe just some refinement. Might be a good example of why it's useful for the small parts makers to take advantage of the community and those like Matt that have a ton of hours in, with a ton of different parts. Send your product to them to get feed back. Getting the good and bad word from outside you're view and usual circle of friends is invaluable. You just can't see some flaws and/or solutions, no matter how hard you look.
@@anthonybarto4721 great combo! Honestly I’m just sick of paying for any inserts and use foams a lot. Part of why I’ve been stretching them on 1.3s. They work well enough and I don’t have to buy any inserts 😆
Really lacking in squish to get bigger contact patch. Maybe needs some sort of notching to get squish. Definitely needs a version for really light rigs, like your comp rig.
That stuff kinda looks like what you'd find inside one of those gel cooling pillows.......... Hmmmm🤔 Look hand cut out too........Hhhmmmmmmm......... Maybe someone works in a pillow factory and gets the off cuts..........
@@jeffharig well I hate to hear it but I’m also glad to hear I’m not the only one. I literally struggled for days (on and off) trying to find a wheel that would work!

Are they ok to run in 95 plus outdoor temperatures?
@ I froze them and boiled them, they’re solid to run in extreme temps!

Waited for you video on these 💯
Looks pretty good. I have a set on the way. Going to try them on 1.6s that are crush lock, so mounting will hopefully be ok. Lol
Dammit Matt, you beat me to it! 😂 I have these sitting on my bench at home right now and will be testing them out this weekend.
@@CK4RC can’t wait to see what you think about them. I think they work but also a pain to mount and may not work too well on heavier builds.

Definitely! Version 2 is WAY easier to mount and work with! Live the feedback, want to make a great product that works!
Some Flubz in front, crawler innovations foams and tuning disks in rear.

Just did this setup on my last build and it works great!
I saw those recently and was also skeptical. And this is why we love you
After watching this video they'll never be on my mind again. I'm sorry you had to go through that nightmare
The newer version are WAY easier to mount, Hope that helps! Growing pains!
Try trimming the inserts at a 45° on both sides right where the bead locks up.
The new versions have a larger opening, virtually eliminating the issue Matt had!
@raddaddy niice, any chance on reducing weight?
@ I have a prototype I’m working now that will be a hybrid and hopefully come in around 20-22g!
I do think the wheel slipping on the rim was those wheels that are causing that. I've had them do similar

We have the Strawberries version that has just that!!! Sent Matt a set to try out!!!
